DIY mod for DS-1 successful.

Had some spare time last week and played around (yet again) with the DS-1. I think I finally got the tone I wanted: a round fat tone with mild to moderate distortion and none of the ugly thin tinny sounds you get from the stock DS-1.

Btw, if anyone wants to try it out, you can drop by my place and bring along a stock DS-1 to compare. It is very different. Articulation is excellent, and it is very responsive to picking intensity. The range of distort varies from almost nothing to mega distortion, unlike the stock DS-1 which gives you between mild fart to loud fart.

Some of the changes are:
R39 : 15K, 1%
47pF cap in parallel with D5
R35 : 1K2, 1%
R14 : 1K5
R13 : 3K2
D5 : LED
C14 : 1uF
C12 : 0.047uF
C11 : 0.047uF
C8 : 1uF
C5 : 0.22uF
C3 : 0.1uF
C2 : 0.68uF
C1 : between 0.047-0.1uF

The danelectro daddy-o is another nicely moddable pedal. The TL072 can be replaced by other op-amps with different characteristics.

Congrats on the mod.
Wondering if anything can be done to the G2.1u, it sucks that it can't be connected to stompboxes.

You can get a white LED too. I installed one for a daddy-o, which takes a big fat LED. Looks really nice.

You need to be real careful while soldering blue LED's, since they are generally more delicate than red ones. It's easy to blow them.
