Dishonest Softie & Ibanez Tremolo Help!!!

Can you enlightment why the guitar looked brand new after the setup? Did the scratches disappear? You mentioned dust. Its DUST, for ****'s sake. Can't you wipe them off?

Played perfectly after set up? Of course! Then what's a set up for? Even a tip top good guitar needs to be re-setup every few years for it to be in perfect playing condition. Wear and tear do happen you know?

No strings? Strings are $6. Maybe you could have nego $6 off. Did you? Unless the neck is warped, then it's ok.

About the trem bar dropping. Your guitar. Edge III trem? If so, do a "divebomb" there's a slot where you can put your smallest allen key in to tighten the hole. (do check the manual). Have you tried that? Or is it really broken?

haha divebomb tightening's the basic. i bet this guy didn't even receive the manual. but its okay dude, there's always the internet. anyway ibanez with this price tag usuaslly comes with an edge3 trem. for me, this tremolno bar sucks per se. haha i think you'll have to retune after doing the divebomb. good luck.

Sound Alchemy and Beez said that the slot to put in the trem bar is broken. so the slot can lock the bar in.

The trem slot looked sooo f**** up, i didnt bother doing the tightening thing,

i was curious if there is any diff if i tighten it, so, i gave it a try. and, the bar didnt fell out!!!

i think beez and sound alchemy said it was broken becoz it looks sooo bad. if you see it your-self, you too think its broken.

Softies = Great, Helpful and Friendly People!

It was much more than a set-up...
I had to refret and relevel and change out the trem springs
before I could proceed with the set-up...

And a lot of parts were rusted and corroded, so I changed all the screws
and even fit in a new set of locking nuts.

I tried my best to make his guitar shine again because I know how it feels to buy a second hand guitar in that kind of condition. Hopefully I made him feel a little better about his guitar...

My apologies if I couldn't solve your trem bar problem.
The overhanging black plastic from the tremslot gave me
the impression like something broke off from it.

Seekz: I've always thought all steps taken to make a guitar into the optimum playing condition is a set up. If mention the usual balance trem, string action, intonation, it's a basic setup. You know like motorbike (if you ride one), got regular service (engine oil etc) and full service (nearly an overhaul). Same with guitar, I suppose.

Hey!!!

thank you very much for the setup!!!!!

was really surprise when i got it back, you done a really good job!!

really appreciate the service you give!

i ask alot of people about the black plastic thing, they also thought something broke off. so, no worries.

anw, i really like what you did to the guitar.

thank you very much!!!!

i will try to come by as i stay in pasir ris, and that time, i send my cousin to collect it for me.

Thanks!:-D

I think setup only involves cleaning and adjustments to make the guitar more playable. Changing of parts, fret work and polishing are not part.

You deserve it for not checking.

Gotoh trems are $120 from Davis and are a drop in fit for your RG350EX.
It's reasonably priced and is pretty good. You can bring it to me (upstairs top floor) or to beez to set it up. I don't trust Davis' guitar tech whose work made me learn to do this sort of shit myself.

If it's a Edge III routing (which it is), Gotoh can't go in without a little routing.

congrats on the workability of your axe ... but .. I guess you gotta alter yourthread title a bit now rite? ;)
