Difference between single and double chain

HEY everyone!!! can anyone one kindly give me some advice on single and double chain double pedals, whats the difference and some examples of a few double pedals that are good.. haha wanting to buy a double pedal and quite concerned about quality and comfort

I think its the respose time. Correct me if i'm wrong and also how hard/fast the beater travels. Thats what the single or double chain does i guess. ahah
