Deathcore and Metalcore. Metal?

Stryper's such a vintage band...
If it's considered metal, then this band is one that would easily win the hearts of many Christian. People say no metal, calling it noise... -_-
Stryper however, proved that wrong... They really have a sentimental side...

Ok, i pushed myself to listen to some core bands. But just not too much.
Every genre is addictive that you would explore more... I'll make an exception for this.

All Shall Perish - I own Price of Existence. It was a spontaneous buy. Grew out of it, and i don't see myself liking metalcore/deathcore.
Awaken The Dreamers is quite a solid release. *I heard them cos they've got leaked*
Only the self-titled song stood out for me. I thought their direction was less "core-ish", but then... sigh, their next few track have to much breakdowns...

Born Of Osiris - A lesser known deathcore band. The uniqueness of this band appealed to me. It's the usage of Keybaords and how they blend it with the genre itself.

There's this theory that every genre has it's good and bad. And perhaps a chance should be given huh? So here goes...

hardcore is fine by itself. But putting metal elements in such a genre pretty much spoils it. Its like having Jay Z rapping for Behemoth... it loses its style

i accept people's opinions when they say they do not like metalcore. but i just wanna say, metalcore is metal too. and avenge sevenfold is metal too (im not a fan). just because you dont like something doesnt mean its not metal.
metalcore = metal + hardcore
lets just put it as that.

no there is no way in a million years that avenged sevenfold is metal.

metalcore's all getting more boring.

the in thing now is hardcore. and deathcore.

im not being offensive here, but it seems to me that emokids have somehow evolved into hardcore kids. Lol.

i dont like all this core shit except grindcore.

so many core nowadays, trancecore, cybercore, mathcore. I think i make new one call core-neck. oso nice.

aiyo. all these are crap to me. preferrence of an individual. no offense guys.

recklessnick - sorry, but in my opinion, metalcore isn't metal precisely because of the fact that it is 'metal + hardcore'

as panz3rr said, hardcore is fine by itself. and metal is even better by itself.

billthegeek - yea, that's all we're asking for, and i think that's the only way to bring an end to this whole debacle.

lyon - i agree that there's too many 'cores' now. i know there's even a pornocore, right? i mean, seriously, pornocore??!!

and yea emo was the music trend in the past. looks like that has changed to deathcore.

kids wearing ball caps, having deathcore songs as their ringtones, and even playing the songs aloud in the mrt (even though they have their earphones with them), like it's supposed to be cool or something.

young people nowadays....

haiya

inside mrt also wanna show off

You may have hit the nail with the two words 'show off'.

I don't know why juveniles nowadays seem to have extremely low self-esteem.

Music seem to be just another outlet for showing off, or for fitting in and be part of the sheep herd.

And for purists like me, we can't help but roll our beady eyes up seeing all these bastardized versions of our favourite rock and metal.

Yes, progress is good but progress, evolution and change is supposed to be for the better. Metal is not supposed to evolve into some emocore shit.

Metal and hardcore music has always been about power, anger, brutality, mystery, questions about life.

Not about crying and being in misery cos you feel sad because your girlfriend has left you for another emo fag.

It makes some sense that, let's say, the vocalist of Killswitch Engage suddenly growls in the middle of their version of 'Holy Diver' but I totally don't get it when a band like Silverstein does it.

So, tt's really, really weird to see some effeminate-looking faggot singing in a whiney voice suddenly growl (not scream, but growl) in the middle of the song.

Well, at least for me it is. Really weird.

i agree with heckler
pity eh?
nice metal songs turned into ugly renditions by some bands
hahaha,i dun care lar...as long as heavy can already

Liberator - may I be one of the first ones to use your recently-coined term?

Guys, here is an example -

a) P Twohill looks like core-neck.

b) P Twohill looks as manly as Chuck Norris.

Of course, you agree that sentence A is true and sentence B will never, EVER become true.

Hahahahahahah!!!

Joking.. joking... Don't start slashing your wrists.

Get a gun. It's much faster and practically painless if used on your head.
