hey guys i jus got my Dimarzio ToneZone soldered onto my RG. However, after soldering my ToneZone, it gives out a very loud hum on high gain. Not usual frm last time when i was using the IFN4 pups from Ibanez. And another thing, there's no difference in sound when i switch from Neck (AirNortons) to my Bridge. It still sounds fat and warm. I suspect the tonezone's dead as it looks pretty old and SUPER rusty. I m pretty sure it got soldered on properly and the grounding was done properly too. PLEASE HELP!!! Thx!

in that case, get back to him, ask if it's possible for a refund if it's faulty. there must also be a consideration that the product becomes defective due to the installation process...

it could be due to the fact that the wires at the output jack of the guitar is wired opposite ways. thats why all the pickups seem to have hum cos the jack aint grounded.

just try. if it doesnt work, send to a tech to see whether its the installation that caused it or by some other unexplained reasons.

Okay. i did another test. i connected my guitar through the amp and placed my handphone speakers over all 3 pickups. Neck, Centre and Bridge. When i toggle the swtich to neck and placed the speakers over the Airnorton's, it picked up the soudn really well and the song coming frm the phone could be well heard through the Amp speakers. Same for the centre one too. HOWEVER, when i placed it directly over my tonzone on the bridge. It didnt pick up any sound. Not at all. Yeah. So pls help!!!! i m dying here. lool..

Unless you're really confident in your wiring, I would agree with sub, get a 2nd opinion. It might not be the pickup that's having a problem, but the wiring.
