Hmm... I'm looking for a delay pedal and after hearing some soundclips from musiciansfriends and reading a lot of reviews at harmony central and checking up on Soft and yeah.. u get the point :) So after some research i ended up with these 2... Would be great if anyone could adivse me on which one to get? Or any other good delay pedal in the price range of a about 150... Thanks a lot... Btw i really like the slap and reverse effect... Thanks again :)

The Artect Analog Delay from Ebenex, if there is still stock that is. $99 only, and it thrashes the DD-3 upside down inside out left right centre considering the price and the great tone. Hah

whats the special thing, characteristic, functionality of the artec delay over the the dd-3/digidelay that it can trash over?

being analog, is not good enough, what make it so special?

do consider the following:

*Ibanez DE7: simplicity, ease of use, splendid analog output

*Carl Martin Red Repeat: Classic analog voicing for those who frown upon excess

*Line6 Echo Park: sci-fi delay for the millenium generation

*Marshall Echohead: Vintage/ Contemporary delay modules in a single offering, easy selection

It all boils down to the price i guess. True its analog, and being so one can't really compare it 1 to 1 with a digital delay. BUT the Artect delay is really one league above the DD-3, for me that is.

I have both the DD-3 and the Artect, when i compared tones, the DD-3 really just seemed like a photocopy of my signal. However, the Artect delay was really really warm and the tone produced was surprisingly unique.

Words can only say so much, why not you guys go to ebenex to try them out? After all its going for a special rate of $99, compared to the price of the DD-3, the Artec wins it for me.

a good delay unit is a good delay unit, regardless of brand name/ price. there are various types on offer, if it gets the job done for you, it's game. someone's special might be your junk.

i have a personal disliking for delay units- it gets in the way of my playing... :smt011 however, the ones i've tried are invitation obligations. nevertheless, the unit i'll choose depends on the music i play, you should keep this in mind too.

anyway, if you prefer a no-nonsense delay unit, nothing excessive, just delay + play, Ibanez DE-7 should be the standard.

otherwise, if your music requires a psychedelic trip, the Echo Park is hard to beat. it even emulates tape/ analog/ digital voicings for the days when you get bored.

if you need more than merely delay, do enter the loop territory of which, Digitech's Jam Man & BOSS' RC-50 are recommended:

yes, very interesting, tried it recently. it features a compact flash card slot to store your recorded patches. with a 2GB card, you can store up to 6hrs worth of loops... 8O

however, not cheap, $650...

i can't recall the exact price but it's slightly >$200. i urge you to check out used units first, see if the bulk is ok with you.

It is not exactly big as in BIGGGGG, mayb just a little bigger than a boss compact pedal, but its DARN HEAVY lol. Almost as heavy as a crybaby? Hah. And also it runs on a 9.6V power also if I'm not wrong? so it really limits ur adapter capacity.
