:D NO DAVIS GUITAR AND TOPIC TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH OUT

HEY GUYS COME BACK TO THE TOPIC...ANY MORE TO SAY ABOUT DAVIS ?? AND THE ANG MOH...
WAIT!!! I MUST CLARIFY ONE MORE TIME. THAT RUDE MAN WAS NOT ANG MOH AT ALL!!! ONLY HIS ACCENT WAS A MIX OF AMERICAN AND SINGAPOREAN ACCENT. :)

mobius...that guy sounds like joe... well..at first, i found him all gloomy and stuff...but after i had some stuff repaired there, i found that he was actually an 'ok' guy, doesn't talk much, but he is nice, just need to smile more, but...some ppl don't look nice when they smile (eg. Peruigi Collina..bald italian ref?) haha...

well..had a first time experience there...as in...something out of this world for me...i bought a set of machine heads to replace those on my flyin-v, and realised that it was the wrong set. i contemplated selling it online, but decided to get back to the shop against my common sense. (bought on saturday, came back on monday) and i lost my receipt...so i was like really 'last ditch attempt'...was hoping that i'd get Janet to serve me or sth...coz i'd bought the stuff from her...and as the staff were quite busy, i caught joe's eye, and i went over to him.

SURPRISINGLY, he tried to find stuff that could match my tuning machines without any 'boey-soong' look, and when he couldn't, he offered me to get stuff to replace. i exchanged for strings, and was still short of $3.40... and i told him that it was all right, but he INSISTED on me getting either spare strings or picks... i was so shocked. haha...and due to the good service i had...heck la..just get nicer strings, and got coated instead. paid extra $6.60, but it felt good. haha.. such a big change since last yr...

I think you're right. Joe just doesn't smile very much. I mean, honestly, I don't know him very well. I just thought that this poor boy was very often misunderstood. I always look for him for minor guitar repair issues. And eventhough he REALLY doesn't smile that often, he's get his job done efficiently. There was once I bought quite a number of items from him, and just like his usual QUIET self, he gave me a discount even without telling me. Not bad for someone who doesn't smile, yeah?

k

quiet people are always the person who does their job real well. Joe is a nice guy. N he drove a Mitshubihi EVo 6. power!!

Opps...Think i misunderstood the guy...Sorry Joe if u are reading this....Maybe i caught him on a bad day...I remember i was enquiring about changing my pickup selector....he wasnt really helpful then halfway through another lady(not janet) took over....hmmm...Sorry Dude

i keep going into davis but have never bought anything more than tt from them other than a cheapo $6 strap :P

hmmz davis character profile

old man --> big boss

young man / JOE --> son in law

OLD lady --> big boss wife / lady boss

2 sweet chio young ladies : Janet and (i forgot the other 1's name :P)

that dude's cool. nv see him smile before. :p anyway, most of the time i look for him. bought 2 guitars from him and alot of accessories like strap knob and strings.. nv smile.. nv look at me when talking to me.. but he's generally ok i thought..

hmm...davis service so far ok lah, though i did notice that the boss looks stern and suspicious of all people who walk into the shop. He was never rude to me b4, but saw him being rude to an ang moh(who could not speak english well). I was feeling pretty unhappy about it, but decided that since he is the one buying all the stock, he naturally must feel protective over his gear(though i still think he's being overprotective).

Went there yesterday for a wah wah pedal and asked to try the classic wah by morley, Janet was the one serving me(if her name is janet  ). Anyway it was the perfect service experience for me, not because of her looks or anything, but because she was extremely polite and efficiently helpful. Also was very enthusiastic to let me try out the gear, thats important cos it makes the customer feel more at ease. Brought my own guitar to test out there, and when the classic wah pedal wasnt strong enough with my guitar, she recommended the Pro II wah, also by morley. It cost just $25 more, which shows that as a salesperson, she was not just out to earn more money by recommending the most expensive one. It turned out to be much better with my guitar.

Finally, as a added bonus, she looked at the slash's snakepit logo on my guitar and commented that it was a nice guitar. She also asked me where I got it from, how much it cost, and if the seller gave me the hard case or not. And when i told her that the seller kept the hardcase, she gave a look of displeasure.

Haha, so for me? Experience in Davis Guitar is good! Or rather ranges from average to good, depending on who the person serving me is. Just sharing my views on the customer service, cos in the end, its we customers who benefit from such postings. Hope you guys will share the good and bad you have to say about this shop(since the thread is about it.).

nah, I think she just likes you la ;) you must have impressed her with your skills.
eh we need to find out when is the old uncle's off-day, if he has one.
