Davis Guitar Shop.

my only bad experience at davis was when i handed one of the guys there my mc instead of the receipt to collect my guitar, yea they all laughed at me. well who wouldnt?
besides that, the staff at davis are generally friendly and approachable, yea and they do offer their help, all you gotta do is look lost

it also means if u got a f**k face, u tend to get f**ked more often than others...

sorry, just kiddin...

"Wheres the clerk? I know, I'll use the 'may I help you riff'"

"may I help you?"

"Yes my good man, I'd like to have a look at this Fender stratocaster please"

ROFL I love Waynes World

i find alot of serivce to be good at SLS

there are plenty of shops that give you advice and discounts nearly all the time and whatever.

except this one guy wouldnt give me a refund so my dad called him and threatend to come down himself if he didnt give me a refund, then he was an arsehole about it but anyway, i got my refund.

For me, it's good and bad.

The 2 girls there are nice. Pretty too  . The young guys there are ok, just help out when asked to. The old man was the worst. I was testing out the olp stingray. So, there I was doing my stuff for barely 5 minutes when the old man stood over me. I felt uncomfortable and stopped playing and he said "ok?" and reached for the bass. I had no choice but to give it back to him. I don't exactly want to wrestle with him.

If you want to see really bad service, go to sim lim square 8)

no, try sim lim towers, anyway davis is ok wad, i basically go there to pickup strings once every 2 weeks, and i always see the same smiles and no grumpy faces

but generally i think age counts. i mean if i'm going with my friend, we get ignored. if i'm going with my dad, they come and help us

Davis is ok...No problems with them... They may give u a lukewarm response sometimes but at least they answer to ur queries and give u a acceptable service

Sweelee has a jekyll and hyde kind of service, sometimes they are very nice, sometimes their staff appears stuck up..

The best is luther, they give u very honest advice, they wont smoke u so as to sell u something, they will tell u all the pros and cons of the product u are buyin if u ask them...I remember having a lesson in the type of mics by one of their staff when i jus told them i noe nuts about mics and wanna buy one. Their service is tops!

Citymusic is oso good in their sevice too, provided u dont touch their expensive martins without permission

Though a lot have negative experiences at davis, (myself included) i have to give some credit to davis. I had wanted to buy a marshall jackhammer pedal frm davis a few years back. I had just knocked off frm work and rushed to the shop with the intentions of purchasing it.

It was late and as i reached the store, the auntie there was already closing up. I stepped in only to have the auntie tell me the obvious. I told her nicely that i wanted to try out the pedal n may intent to purchase it. It didn't take much persuasion and she relented. I also told her i want to try the marshall guvnor and she was kind enuf to let me.

I took my time to tweak the pedals and she still was patient with me. Never did once she told me to hurry up, she even gave some pointers and opinions (though it didn't really help much)

All in all, i made my purchase and looked at my watch. It was alreay half an hour past the shop's closing time and i was the only customer there being attented to. That is a good example that davis can provide good service if it wanted to.

yeah my dad was in luther for 40+ minutes talking to the guy about drum machines and amp setups. the guy was so helpful - he is the one with curly hair and glasses i think.

Dat one not Luther lah..

He's one of the staff working there..

And a damn good guitarist too..

ya luther is friendly, and sometimes funny. that time i went there, then one of their staff shouted "asshole". then the boss said "oi! no vulgarities allowed i tell u!" then seems damn serious like that...

ok not funny -.-

But seriously, i noticed that personal bearing plays a very important role when it comes to getting service.Carrying a Pokemon bag ain't gonna reflect well.

Hmmm you may be right, but its the shops' fault then... They're supposed to serve all customers equally.

Maybe its because there's too many of them competing that they can't afford to be rude...?

You got a point there. Also, prices in USA guitar shops are kinda lower compared to the prices we Singaporeans get locally.
