Okay, I'm freaking frustrated! I can't seem to buy things online.

Problem no.1 :

The billing address have to be a US residencial address.

Problem no.2:

The credit card used must be issued in the US

Problem no.3:

Paypal sg, don't work. Needs to be paypal US with us billing address.

How does anyone manage to buy things from the states? Vpost won't work if you can't clear credit transaction with the merchant! Damn... MUCH HELP NEEDED!!!

If I'm not wrong, vPost has a concierge service that helps purchase items on behalf of the buyer at a fee, of course.

I've also bought countless number of times direct from US websites. Guess you just need to find one that accepts our credit cards / paypal.

Would help if you let us know what you intend to buy and/or which site you are looking at.

I was looking to buy a guitar off musicianfriend. But apparently, they don't accept our credit card and paypal. I tried guitarcenter.com too and same thing. It's just frustrating! If vpost concierge is used, a 20 buck flat fee is impose alongside a 5% charge of whatever you're buying.

How do you guys get your stuff online? through e-bay?

its best to email them and ask them straight.... as some of them will try their best to get the shipment and payment done by all means :)

maybe you can try wire transfer. i've done it through internet banking with my uob account. there's a small fee involved though, a certain percentage of the transfer amount if i remember correctly. you will need to get the wire transfer details from the merchant :)

Yup, I'm freaking frustated as well trying to get stuff online from US websites.
Swee Lee don't seem to have any of the white Dimarzio pickups I need so for now I have to use Vpost until I can find other alternatives.
Ordered 3 Dimarzio pickups on Amazon (shipped by Musician's Friend) earlier this month using my Vpost USA address.
The items were on backorder, and they finally shipped the items yesterday.
It will take some time before I get them pickups.
And I have no idea how much Vpost will charge me cos I never really checked.
If the total cost is about the same as getting them locally maybe I'll stick to this method for a while.

is there anyone who could help us souls to get things not from our shore?places like sweetwater andthe listed sites?

Hey dude, if you want any pickup, you dont actually need to go thru the vpost way. You can try ebay. And i mean ebay.com not sg one. Many seller are willing to ship to Singapore, and for extra $10USD, you can get the color covers for the dimarzios!

Guitar wise, my opinion is that the best and cheapest are not from MF or GC. I been to states before, I've been to GC, they handle thier instrument like things in NTUC. They buy in bulk thats why price cheap. So if you buy, not happy, or find similar items cheaper elsewhere, within 30days can return. But they are not the BEST priced, dealers giving the best price cannot offer these kind of sales and return service, bcos too expensive on the logistic backup. Try ebay again, look for reliable dealers with good ratings, go to your bank and pay wire transfer (pay like 30 to 40bucks service charge.) and you get the thing you want!

I always stay clear from online shops that don't ship overseas. Vpost is equally troublesome too coz you have to calculate your own shipping charges esp bulky items. My main source of online purchasing is always ebay, if the stuff I want can't be shipped to sg then just too bad la, try search for it again another time.

Sometimes can ask seller whether can ship to Singapore or not first. Some sellers think Singapore is part of Indonesia therefore scare of scam and dont dare to ship. Always try before giving up. ;)
