Customise Complete Composers Collection - PLAY Edition

Is it worth to invest on "Complete Composers Collection - PLAY Edition" by East West?

I am thinking to buy it online through www.soundsonline.com

Any of you have the experience to buy software from the above website?

Any advise?

Soundsonline is OK. Bought a number of times from them. Complete Composers is a hot item. I thought I received a recent email from Soundsonline about their sale - buy 1 get 1 free.

However, personally, I would avoid the PLAY engine. Too many complains about a great product running on an inferior engine. For me, I'm sticking on with Kontakt.

Buy 1 get 1 free? including the complete composer's collection?

I am not worry about the PLAY engine as they mention that they will constantly update the software. And I don't seems to have a choice as the products they are selling nowadays are the PLAY edition.

Anyway, thanks for the reply, cheez.

Your choice, eventually, will be based on which engine you want to use. If PLAY, then in the future, you'll be targeting East West products. However, even with their upgrades, PLAY still has problems, not to mention complains about their lack of support.

Of course, there are other choices - VSL (Vienna engine), Kontakt, Garritan (Aria engine) etc. And you can use more than one engine simultaneously, although that will not be the most efficient if you are running only one PC with lots of instruments loaded.

I can't remember much about the offer. It was in the email, but I deleted it. Probably not the complete composers package. If there's no offer at their website at the moment, do wait for Christmas. Also, their Hollywood Strings will be out soon, although I doubt it will be part of the Complete Composers package as it will be priced much higher (more than $1000 USD).
