Custom made pedalboard

Hi guys, I have a piece of wood that I bought from IKEA 2 days ago.

The measurements are 76cm by 30cm.

I wanna custom make my pedalboard and was wondering where can I get the carpet or velcro as the base.

And where can I get a soft case about this size in order to fit the pedalboard in?

Hope you guys can help me out here haha!

Thanks!

I also bought a same sized wooden board from Ikea and then put $60 ($3.50 per feet) worth of velcro on the whole pedalboard. In the end, some of the velcros had problems sticking to the board. So I bought a staple gun to nail down the velcros to the wood.

Costed me about $90 in total to get it fully done. Now it's working fine but I don't use it. Cos it's not as comfortable as a pedaltrain pro with its inclined angle to access the pedals comfortably.

A pedaltrain pro is expensive at $260.

A pedaltote pro at about $80-90 would be better value for money and much less of a hassle than building a DIY board.

A Road Ready pedal suitcase at $75 is nice too.

Or just get a EHX or Westfield soft pedalcase at abt $45 to carry your pedals around.

Just felt that you should know the other options available. Cos I also went through the same path and didn't like what I had in the end.

Yep, I tried that. It was not comfortable and I was worried the board would slam onto the floor if the wedge below shifted.

After all the cost and hassle... argh... I realised I should have just bought a cheap ready made one off the shelf and then wait for the pedaltrain.

If you can't find a good enough carpet for the size you want, here's a good alternative: http://www.lytpedalboards.com/velcro_carpeting

They are 4" wide strips, much better coverage then getting insane amounts of 3M industrial strength velcro.
