Hey guys. I'v this crazy idea! I wanna make a Custom Gigbag for my new Squire.

Specs are: Transparent Gigbag , Certaine area to be cover with thick styro foam(the side of the bag and some important parts of the bag) and 1 Blue led light on the cover of the bag.

TripleNick, unless you have cash to unload, and I mean, just splurge like that, its really a crazy idea.

I'd say, leave it as a crazy idea lah... better to spend the cash on some DS1.

awww c'mon.... encourage him lah and i'll like to see how newbies can be resourceful to create and make something new whether DIY or not or whether is idea is crazy or not.

this one does not affect tone so.... GO FOR IT!!!

yea... its nt tt's hard... just need to find the materials(Pvc and Blue Led light) and find a tailor to assemble them up...I guess I will feel good too having a cool gigbag and even have a small compartment to hold my g2.1u. Its much more expensive when there's a shop speically doing it the difference is just cause they come out that idea and people willing to pay cause they'r lazy to DIY. And if I manage make it out, I guess if it looks cool people are willing to pay even like 50-100.Imagine it has Led light and some stuff to lite up your favourite guitar.

A hardcase is a better value i think.

hehe. It'll be good if you can come up with a good hardcase which is see thru. :)

just a few considerations i thought

1) Expected weight of the whole thing with guitars in it and the pedals? Was thinking even if it look cool, but heavy and bulky, it will overwrite the cool factor.

2) Durability- Pvc, imho dont last. And with thicker one, weight factor come in again

3)Functionality over cool factor or cool factor over functionality? Ultimately, the case is to provide a fitting and protective environment for the guitar to be in it. If a drop of the case or over incident, the pvc might crack and in turn damage the guitar in it

4) How much willing to spend on the whole thing, where to find the pvc that is durable yet not weight too much

5) Method of construction? How to ensure all the joint are tightly fitted.

just some considerations i can think of right now..

yo triplenick..seems like u totally understand the theory of NO IMAGE = NOTHING. but then again i dont think ur gonna look too cool carrying that heavy blue led lited custom gigbag, while perspiring like a madman. maybe a hardcase with wheels might help. :D

I dunno man...

Let's see lah. You don't really play onstage with a gig bag. I reckon the cost of the gig bag could be more than your Squire. Why don't you reinvest that moolah in getting a Fender lah?

We all know IMAGE = EVERYTHING. BRAND > QUALITY.

We should always rock out with the best equipment mah. If it's all cool, get a matching Hugo Boss suit to go along with the guitar lah. The Killers, Franz Ferdinand and Interpol are dressed by Armani, Paul Smith, Hugo, etc. That pretty rocks. Help me out here, bro TLB bro. Are My Chemical Romance and Green Day endorsed by M.A.C?

Corporate punk-rock rawks my DIY-punk-rock bollocks!

TripleNick, it's all about the image people can see!!!

the best gig bag ive seen in 2007 is

Simi W&W?

Complicated stuff... this is worse than matching effects...

Nevermind! Come payday + sale of Ibanez = purchase of necessities time.

I'll post in Gear Gallery 2007!
