Current rig doesnt work with my strat

This is my pedal rig currently: Boss CS-2 ->Fuzz face ->barber drive -> blues driver ->Byoc delay (just sold off).

I put this rig together when I had my les paul and it sounded pretty good even thru my crappy practice amp. The overdrive tones were thick, smooth and full-sounding. endless sustain with the CS-2 turned on.

Recently i put together a strat from parts - highway1 alder body, wilkinson hardware, fender CS 69 pups, eden maple neck. It sounds terrible compared to the les paul thru this rig. The clean tones on the guitar are good but the overdrive sounds fuzzier and muddy? Though this was not totally unexpected, I didnt think it would sound this bad.

I havent tried it out on other amps but does anyone have a similar experience? will a booster help thicken the tone?

ur les paul has humbuckers and ur strat has single coils right..thats one thing to consider..

no 2 guitar put through the same line of effects with the same settings will sound the same..

wad sounds good with humbuckers may not sound good with single coils and vice versa..

u gotta tweak..

Yeah.. I spent a net worth of 2k on my rig excluding the guitar when I was using my Epiphone Vintage G-400 (modded).. It sounds awesome on that guitar BECAUSE every single aspect was specifically chosen FOR the guitar.. My Gibbie doesn't sound as good as it is naturally brighter, and not as focused on its low-end.. Hence, the optimum guitar for my rig is my Epiphone, while my Gibson still sounds good, but it is not fully optimised to her fullest potential..:mrgreen:

from what I know, CS69s really sound good on mild overdrive.

anyway apart from that. I feel that your pedals are a bit on the noisy side. firstly, CS69s are not hum cancelling, therefore there is bound to be a lot of noise especially when using together with a CS-2. what you can do to the CS-2 is reduce the sustain knob to less than 12 o clock. that would significantly reduce the amount of noise generated.

you can also set your pedals with less overdrive. sometimes less is more :).
