I'm pretty sure that most of you guys here have both soft.com.sg and YouTube tabs always active in your browsers always, and are constantly looking for music videos of your favourite music heroes and bands.
For me, sometimes I have listened to certain songs for years without bothering to find out how these people look like, and it's always so fun to look for the videos of some obscure bands or singers whom I don't have a clue what they look like.
Today I watched Asian Dub Foundation for the first time *http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvAuqYFVrqI) and thought that the music video is not as cool as their music, although I really like the black chap who looked like Will.I.Am from The Black Eyed Peas. Really stylo sia.
Care to share any really badly made music videos? Sometimes when you think about it, it's not really about the budget. It's just about very poor art direction, conceptualization and making the effort to do things with pride.
I've not seen many locally made music videos but I think they are pretty decent lah, but not that exciting or mindblowing.
I am sure even for local bands who write their own music, even if they don't intend to market their songs through MTV or such - will people still spend on MTVs for posterity's sake?
