either there be notification slip on the missed delivery or if theres tracking number for the item, you can check online using the shipper tracking system to see the attempt delivery update. Just give them a call to rearrange the timing for delivery or self pick up at post office/shippers' distro warehouse/office(ups, fedex, dhl etc).

no extra charges for missed delivery. Just try to rearraange with shipper if its any of these(dhl/fedex/ups), with the tracking number, just call them up and give them the tracking number, tell them you are expecting the parcel, can it be rearranged to the time you wanna or do self pickup.

Either way, as long item is more then $400sgd, gst of 7% applies which you can pay to the delivery guy or pay to the counter staff when self pick up.

Hehe, for insurance coverage purpose on the shipped item (or be a law abiding citizen), do not ask the dealer to under declared the item/sent as gift just to save on the shipping/gst etc. Even though can save some money here and there, if item kena delivery half way loss, you be stuck with no claim/little claim on the item (under declared value of item). Oh yeah, in US, its against their law to undeclared/sent as gift if it aint so. Most respecting dealer wont do it as well.

For a peace of mind and loving for the item you wanna, pay what it should be, get a tracking number, trace the location using shipper tracking system and it should arrive safely.
