it means *** (this particular party) members dont curse at you when you accidentally bump into them n all their brochures fall out of their hand. patience marn. i think in the next GE i'll vote for them. by that time i'll be legal to vote. =p

Today's news pretty funny .... PM lee ask the opposition to talk bout terrorism and all these other world issues ... I find this hilarious cause singaporeans are more worried bout our jobs and lives here ... Who the crap cares bout other countries ...

the ruling party's strategy is to throw the opposition off the hook knowing that the opposition have absolutely no financial means of justifying anything about the "real" issues except for lobbying it in the parliament.

it's a chicken and egg thing - no one can do anything if he doesn't get elected.

The reason why singaporeans don care much about world issues is that most of us have with this mindset that the gov will take care of everything. The world is globalising at a fast pace, World issues do and will affect us.

Singaporeans have this "the moon is rounder on the other side"mentality. Hence the import and appreciation of foreign talents, foreign music, and the exodus of some of our citizens. They also always like to ask how the govt can help them whenever they encounter a problem, they seldom think of how they can help themselves..they always feel they are helpless without the govt .

Hehe. The FT thing is more of a government initiative i feel, plus the fact that employment of foreign workers can be cheaper (dependent on situation).

I always find it disturbing when someone has to go look for the MP to defer NS, or to fix up something that's wrong in one of the civil institutions. Just a while ago I remembered one NUS guy had to raise up a problem regarding borrowing a video in the NUS library to the politics forum, where MDA still had guidelines regarding borrowing that particular category of videos. Eventually the PAP MP called up MDA and "settled the issue". (MDA had "been reviewing its guidelines as was in the process of completing the study", if you must believe.)

Something is broken somewhere. Burecracy breeds helplessness?
