But quite a lot of people in his GRC voted for the opposition

Not exactly a crushing victory for him

Haha i was watching news the other day, and i was really shocked at the way they painted the opposition sometimes .. Like, PAP managed to garner support blablab, then when opposition news they went like a very rowdy crowd, gomez and other bad part of the opposition. I really wish to think that our media is not controlled as the government says, but who are we kidding?
I agree with you on this. It sickens me on how everyone has been brainwashed by the government.

Free press my ass.

if you realise, it's like 1/3 of people vote opposition even when they lose. More than 1/3 voting for Opposition in singapore ... That kinda explains something, don't you think?

in a way.. how the pple vote the opposition shows also that the PAP could have done better in terms of campaigning and tackling issues that affect Singaporeans individually and the nation as a whole

and not start stuff like the JG saga.. tink thats why got a slight spike in voting for opposition

Channel 5 reported for Worker's Party victory speech, Mr Low was saying "Thank you for your support...(short pause)...despite the PAP's carrot..."
before finishing his sentence, suddenly they cut off his victory speech.
Now who didn't see that coming. Haha

eh.. i sala liao.. looks like Steve Chia might be an NCMP again..

hmm.. likedat like not much change to parliament except for the new PAP faces.. most of the govt still looks the same..

I just have one question ah ... I don't like how the PAP has dangled that 100million dollar upgrading thing infront of people so that they will vote for them. I find that if they really cared for us, why would they only upgrade the place IF we vote for them? They are the government, they can allocate the funds to upgrade the place if they want to. This kind of stuff just makes me quite disappointed sometimes. It's like bribery, in a way.

simple.. its all abt politics.. as pap has said liao.. upgrading is offered exclusively by the pap.. so of course the wards that support pap will get upgrading first

as for those that dun support.. doesn't mean wun upgrade but will do so much much later..

actually.. next elections gonna be very interesting.. cos by then Hougang will be quite old compared to other upgraded 'old' estates liao.. wonder if might become pap ward next elections?!?! hmm..
