Oh no! Fare hikes in August! I wonder why they postponed the proposition for fare reviews back till August. I just we just have to work harder to meet up with the higher living costs that will plague us in future while Ministers get the same fat salary they're been getting.

ohh.. hmm.. .likedat the WP got their 2 top pple in parliament liao.. but then agn.. NCMP not much power.. and it's 3 vs 82 aniwaez

regardless, a twin-party political system ala Democrats vs Republicans, Labour vs Conservatives, doesn't seem too far off in the future.
better days ahead.

Khaw Boon Wai is a good Health Minister...it would be a waste if he lost.

I think this election gave the PAP a good scare.

agree, especially in aljunied.

it only takes one minister to fall to show the PAP that Singaporeans mean business.

But Singaporeans today decided otherwise.

In the end still the same, Potong Pasir and Hougang taken by opposition, PAP take the rest.

But interestingly, alot of this year's votes were in the 60% region. Looks like more people unhappy with the PAP's actions.

i dunno how many s'poreans voted for pap merely bcos they're afraid their votes will be traced.
-the climate of fear is still pervasive.

the opposition garnered a lot more votes this time. is this a sign of things to come?

and the aljunied grc fight was pretty close too. WP got 44% of the votes.

and did you notice how the PM got the longest airtime immediately after the announcement of his victory.

is 66.6% really a very strong mandate?
they're speaking as though it is.

whatever it is, it's time now to get behind the leadership. because we have to be responsible and think for the team. Dissent will only slow the progress down and is not how a good team member shld behave.

Until the next time.

All I can say is, like bro rampage over here mentioned to me earlier, the people have the power.

The pap got their share of scares today. That should push them to work.

I still maintain that if the opposition are such patriots, they should have spent more time getting people to agree with their points, as opposed to screaming at the men in white. The people are the ones who are gonna vote them in, not the pap.

you've got to make a distinction between the SDP and the rest of the opposition.
I think WP and SDA have conducted their campaigns in an ethical and gentlemanly way. Don't smear all the opposition with the same brush.

Maybe I didn't phrase that clearly. I meant that instead of busying themselves by arguing with the pap they should have spent more time directly lobbying support from the people instead.

This is the very same reason why I believe Low Thia Khiang deserves to be where he is. If he has a point, he makes it, and that's that. he doesn't try to beat the shit and stuffing out of it.

remember that PAP only steered away from Gomez-gate from the 7th day onwards.
Oh well, it's all water under the bridge now

There's a difference, the PAP is the ruling party. You know as well as I do what that means, so let's be mature about it and accept reality.

*EDIT* p.s. for the sake of not taking up more space on this thread, for the record, what I said earlier still applies to the entire entity of the opposition.

..

and i think chee siok chin did her best to rise above the scandal that her paper caused.

too bad she is way ahead of our time. we haven't reached her political maturity yet.
