Classified ads title

Hey guys, been browsing the classifieds for quite a while, and I noticed that for every category (Guitar, bass, non-music related etc) there seems to be people who post their title as "WTS Stuff", "WTS Some stuff", "Clearing stuff", "Stuff to clear" etc, which all essentially mean the same thing: you have things you wanna sell. But what exactly are the stuff? We have to click in order to find out, which makes the views go up. Doesn't concern me or anyone actually, but for the sake of Softies who do not want to click on every ad JUST to see what exactly you're trying to sell, please put the item name on the title. I mean its okay if you have lots of items and decide to put "Many pickups for sale" or "Drum hardware clearance (Pedals/stands etc)", because it'll be ridiculous if we expected you to list out the names of every single item. So no hard feelings guys, just saying what I feel about the ad titles. Thanks for looking!

Heh...actually by right, the administrator stated that it should only be one item per thread. So, automatically, the title of the ad should not be like that. But I guess some softies find it a hassle, thus the problem you have observed.

As I have already pointed out in a previous thread on the limits, this is what happens. Some people like myself have TOO many items that we intend to unload. However I do agree that sellers should do their part to state what they're selling, at least the category (cymbals, stands, etc.)

Yup thats what I mean, if too many items thats okay, just at least the category will do. :)

how about the requirement to post the price?
i wonder what the list of requirements are for if no one adheres to it or enforces it?
in some forum, the mods do delete post which do not follow the rules.
i also noticed there are some with 2 nicks posting. I wonder why they do that.
the most frustrating one is aeroplane pilot....usual reason is ...exam lah...army lah..busy lah..can only deal in weekend lah.
then come weekend disappear...then say sold...wah lau...i am not desperate to buy...but why waste people's time?
I encounter 2 aeroplane pilot within a short span of 1 week. :(
lucky all my previous dealings were with very nice softies...but somehow last week very suay.

Dear Battlefield2, please read before posting ads

1) Don't post duplicate ads in multiple sections.
2) One item in one thread.
3) Repost only after FIVE days.
4) Please include PRICE, PHOTO and CONTACT INFO and not link to external site.
5) This Classified section is for user's personal items only, if you are trading commercially, please contact info@soft.com.sg for advertising opportunties.

Just report offending posts or multiple accounts. We don't have a lot of mods to constantly check the site but James usually cleans it up within the day.

@battlefield: You can only suck it up when it comes to aeroplane pilots, I've met a few myself already. Lucky I didn't rupture a blood vessel dealing with them. HAHA.

Sometimes sellers should give and take, if a buyer comes up and have negotiated a price and date/time of trade, ethically you should stick to it. Should another buyer comes along and offer a better price and earlier date and you're, to put it crudely, tempted to the profit, at least inform the first dude in line. Isn't nice to fly a buyer just because he couldn't make it earlier or offer a higher price especially when you already said "Okay, [insert date/time], $xx for [insert item]. Cya there!"

Does anyone realise the 'edit' button is no longer there for classified ads?
Not just the classifieds. There is now a limit to when you can edit (though haven't figured out exactly). Might be time-based or after other people have replied. Not sure the purpose, maybe so you can't change your words once the thread has gotten attention.

I've PMed james about it already, was told to reply to your own thread with the changes and hopefully buyers/sellers will read all the way down.
