hullo,
thanks for all the, uh, opinions here

i actually agree with Leanne C on the 'average musician' bit; will freely admit i am average lah, to sum it up. as for topping the charts - i can't really say that's my ambition actually... at this point, as long as i manage to write some songs that i (and my future children, and any of those close/dear to me) value and think are good (in the sense that they express precisely what i intend for them to express), i think i'll die happy. not saying i've written those songs yet, but that i'm going to keep on trying to get there. and music (to me, anyway) is really a lifelong process... so hopefully i've got many more years to improve and work on it as a craft.
as for the 'average photo' bit... eh do give jackson a break; i don't know much about photography (or visual art for that matter) but i personally thought he was good for someone who had previously photographed nothing but landscapes

and i'm v grateful to anyone who appreciates my music stuff and wants to help me in any way.
blank: i don't think i know Leanne C personally... or rather, the only person i know called leanne is my sister, and she says it isn't her posting on SOFT here.

at any rate - i'm gigging at Earshot Cafe (at the Arts House, 1 Old Parliament Lane) on 2nd August, 7.30pm. and the amazing Koffkoff (
http://myspace.com/koffkoff) is doing a guest set too. am very honoured and excited to be sharing gig space with him. i'll try to make it a good set, although to be honest i haven't played much piano or written over the past year or so (to put it briefly, i've been sick). any suggestions/requests for cover songs are welcome as well.
