i suffer from SWEATY palms aaaah!

haha i was wondering if you guys know any place to get and install pickup covers for pickups. its really crappy to have to wipe sweat from the pickups everytime i play. and if i dont bother cleaning. rust will appear the next day

somebody told me that i can get em at davis. but do i need to buy pickups then i can buy the covers? AND someone mind telling me the approx price of a SH4 and SH1N humbucker price?

Hehe, getting pickup covers are a real pain if you wanna buy a cover separately.
It would be best to buy a pickup that already comes with a cover, most pickups wold be available with a covered version.
If not, good luck trying to find a cover that matches you pickup

I'm estimating roughly $100+?
I think you'll have to order the covered version, and it'll take about 2 months to arrive 8O

i remember seeing the replacement for pickup covers(gibson). i remember seeing sometime like 75. but i dont know if its a pair.

if you put the metal covers on, you'll have to re-pot the pickup or your pickup will likely become microphonic, esp at louder volumes. Not nice.


Just buy plastic covers, that would do.

Or be disciplined. And wipe your guitar down EVERYTIME.

sh4 (jb) and sh1 (59) are going for 99 each at davis for uncovered ones.

with covers u have to order them, plus it would cost approx 120-140 i think, not sure how it works in singapore.

as for installing covers, Shredcow is correct, u need to pot wax them once soldered on.

i know i do have, but what i do is, wash my hands clean before i play, turn on the fan and sit infront of it, and problem solved

check if the Duncan matched pair set has any combo that is to your fancy, it's really a steal for $165 (most set).

my sweaty palms are pretty bad. once they act up. can make my whole hand wet.

haha i think i shud invest in covers. if i get inspired to play something on my guitar for 5 mins. i end up spending another 5 mins cleaning up which isnt value for time ahahaha

haha hey subversion. the combo's youre talking about is for SD at davis? i only saw three combo's at their site, and theyre not what i want :/

be careful when u get the covers dude. a lot of them are nickel plated, and they tarnish real fast, in the end you still have to wipe them after everytime you play. the chrome covers will last a lot longer so get those instead of nickel plated ones.

but anyways bro......pickups with and without covers do sound very different eh. so take note of that too. and it is a good habit to always wipe down your guitar after you play......DONT BE LAZY!!! HAHA........ cheers!
