Hi Everyone,

I'm doin a project and need to do research on whether brand name affects a musician's choice of sound equipment, especially if it utilized by their favourite artiste. Please poll! All help is much appreciated. :D

Hmm

Actually, I'm in between of the 2 options. On 1 hand, a guitarist can play super well, but to sound good, he/she definitely must possess an equipment of a certain standard to pull off a decent performance.

Yups..

hi chylde, is this a school project? if yes, which school and what course? if not, state otherwise.

give us more information about your project and we can better answer your question.

What school project?

Hi,

In answer to your question, yes, it is a school project. I'm doing Arts Management in NAFA. The aim of my project is to convince my "prospective sponsor" - A Leading Brand in Sound Equipment, to sponsor my 'event', which is a concert featuring local unsigned artistes. The reason of this poll is proof for them that people in this industry do take into consideration what brand of sound equipment they use, therefore, sponsoring my event would be a good marketing strategy for them. With all that said and done, I do hope to get more polls, thank you!!!

I work in audio equipment retail side..... wat i can say about brand name is that almost every company have some good models here and there... Many people can say this brand sux just becos they tested a bad model, or maybe a few... moreover, sometimes it's just not their cup of tea. But somehow, not every top brand eg Gibson, Fender etc etc, have all models that are really fantastic, nor the vice versa scenario.. Lower rated brands tend to use cheaper materials and 3rd world countries to manufacture, that's why most have bad quality productions. But they also normally have certain models that are their flagships, and though still made from 3rd world countries, these models are the reason why these companies are still standing. It sums up to another factor called VALUE that we look for. Value meaning good price and a good quality.
