cheapo effects pedals

forget it. since you are not in the electronic industry, it's of no use explaining.

I have no idea wtf you talking about. Who explain to who? You want to explain to me why a $1 jack is as good as a $10 one? This I'd like to hear.

i heard there's this new Behringer servicing centre in s'pore... do they repair broken pedals? i think the warrenty holds right?

Whats up audioslave? Things would work out better if you could be patient and just... well... not be so curt? :)

Lol, I was thinking that means something like standing in a production line and soldering electronic parts that come along on the conveyer belt.

Btw, I haven't tried Behringer pedals but going by the "pro" audio stuff they make, you generally get what you pay for. German company but they manufacture their products in China. Good if you're wanting to get a toy to muck around with but they're not likely to stay in working condition for more than 3 years, so IMO don't buy if you're considering a serious investment.

on the other hand, like the rest of us who're not considering any serious investments... buy lots of behringer stuff to play with... cheap and sounds good...

until it breaks, if u liked the sound of it, then maybe invest in the original counter part... if u don't like the sound of it... well dump it in the plastic recycling machine and save the world damn it...

but ... wat if they dun sound the same ...~?
They might sound fairly similar but ... cant be exactly the same rite ?

sometimes same pedals by the same maker sound different also ..~
eg. fuzz face
Read in guitarplayer magazine that becoz it's hard to find a fuzz face that has matching germanium transistors, either it sounds damn good or like crap.

might as well buy multifx ~
:)

do you think the BOSS DS-1 pedal would get cheaper during the christmas sale at the end-o-the-yr? it's currently going for $68 at swee lee now. =)

bin4christ, just go an try the different pedals ard your budget, dun let ppl tell you that this is better than that or that has better quality than this.

Most importantly try the pedals out first see if you like the way they sound, don't go buy something because someone said so, you'll have less of a chance not liking the pedal in the end that way. Just bring your guitar to the shops and ask if you could try out the pedals. You might like something else other than the DS-1.

A few pedals ard the 100+ budget :

Pro Co Rat,Boss DS1,Marshall Jackhammer, Toadworks Mr Ed, Brit Overdrive, American Overdrive.

granted, what ciel said is pretty right since tone is subjective. I, for one, can't stand the tone of the DS-1, modded or stock.

But do listen when someone tells you about a pedal's limitations. For eg, the Ibanez SmashBox might sound good to a few, but its not even close to being as versatile as the Boss MT2. Or when people say don't buy Behringer if you want long lasting stuff... these things have nothing to do with which-tone-sounds-better so its not subjective.

Actually the DS-1 is around 75 bucks.
The price on the web is not same as in store

I just bought one from swee lee.

ya i thot it was around $70...

mt2 cost around $120(davis)...
at swee lee is $200 i saw but they got discount right?
