haha whats wrong with the smashbox, i had 1 b4 and its definitely not utter crap, i think its better than the metalzone anytime

+1 the smashbox kicks ass for heavy power chording, but only when more than 2 treble notes played, all u can hear is noise

what with use of word cheapo??

what the diff between a 200+ and a 70 one??

did you guys ever do a side by side comparison???

what are the siginificent diff??

you cant compare the sound right dsince each has i's own charactertics

Build quality. Cost of parts. Research and Development (which incidently, Beringher doesn't have to worry about because they just steal other pedals circuits and rehouse them).

whoa really? little wonder they can sell a wah for 70+ brand new O.O

anyway, i think, like stated earlier, that growing as a musician will cause u to want certain new aspects in ur tone, how ur pickups overdrive, etc. then u buy new efx, and if the old one doesnt seem to make it anymore, only thing left to do is sell. but essentially, it got u to where u will be then, so it should be kinda worth it already isnt it? :D

SONIC??? after all our concern is sonic...

bild quality? ... come on la... many well known brand got the components also from china OEM

Sonically even if they are the same, you might have $1 footswitches instead of $9 ones. You might have plastic housings instead of solid metal ones. You might have cheapo pots, jacks, etc.
Build quality, some pedals are built to last, with well designed circuit boards, maybe even point to point connections.

Some people want a Sony discman, some buy Enzer can liao. They usually sound almost the same, but the Enzer sometimes dies in a few months.

Go ahead and buy a cheap pedal that you feel sounds good. It doesn't affect me. Maybe like some girls, you can buy a new $20 pair of shoes every month instead of buying a $200 that lasts a year. Its really up to you.

can some1 tell me wat this is?

overdrive n distortion in 1 pedal?

boss has 2 overdrive pedals right?SD-1 n OD-3?
which is better?

n does it mean tt we can select between distortion n overdrive with the OS-2?

they are different, not better or worse.

check out bossus.com for description and sound samples of all the Boss Effects.

I realise I forgot one more. Supply and demand. Some pedals sell for high prices simply because there are few of them and everybody wants one. The Ibanez tubescreamers for example. The circuits are not that expensive, and the build quality is nothing much. They just are expensive because people will buy them at that price.

ehh audioslave, if they sound the same but another pedal has better footswitches, quality jacks, and proper tone pots not like the plastic pots in the beringher ones, Yes ppl like me would buy the more expensive one.

Unless your a room player and u use ur finger to gently press on the footswitch thn maybe yes get the cheaper one.
