i agree, but there are ppl who are into playing and not composing or arranging and other higher end keybaords are of not in demand for them. But nevertheless, I'd prefer to have a sort of "all-in-one" keyboards...at least its more wider range of use.

Actually, it is the people who are into playing that can be just as picky if not even more than arrangers. During arranging, you can blend the sound as a whole and so sometimes not-so-good sounding pianos can be OK with better sounding modules.

When playing just the keyboard (usually piano and keyboard sounds when just playing), bad sounds become more evident and obvious. Again, when playing with a band, that again blends in. But I have not seen any keyboardist playing in a band using Casio - I'm sure there are though.

Anyway, sound is only a part of keyboards. Touch is just as important. For the Casio, the touch just doesn't cut it. However, I've tinkled a little at the weighted Celviano - it doesn't seem "terrible". But I've only tinkled for a few seconds, so further comments will be unfair. One of my friends has one - maybe I should pop by his place one day to try out for 30 minutes and see.

Is yours still working???? I don't know where is mine. I remember having a lot of fun with it. In secondary school days, I was asked to arrange a piece for the school band (one of the pop songs - I was given a poorly recorded tape). We were supposed to play together with the tape on one of those National Day thing. Since the only keyboard I had at that time was this Casio toy, I used it. Don't know why I didn't use my piano. And in the end, the piece was not playable because the Casio was a semitone off - so all my arrangments were one semi-tone higher than the tape.

But yes, the "don don di di" is really catchy!

Shimano, the PA50 is definitely a good all-in-one keyboard.
which higher range Casio keyboard are you referring to?

Hi soft, I waqs referring to the WK3500 model (WK stands for wide keyboard) As what the site says that its a good all round stage performer :)
