it really depends on how damaged or well mantained your ears are, some 15 year olds can't hear it... some 70 over year old grandmas can.

i have the sound file in my moto v3x but couldnt seem to hear a thing from it. its either the phone's speakers frequency response or my ears. haha. I REALLY HOPE its the speakers.

i play it through my motorola rockr e1. The sound quality that comes out of the phone is really good. Plus it's shock proof. No i'm using some motorola rzrx phone and i can still hear it.

and depends on the phone too!
play it in a car and the adults cant hear
play it in your class and everyone will turn their head frantically,
searching for the culprit..
best of all.. on my bro's nokia, the sound is not even high frequency..
lol.. like u switch on to mediacorp channel at night..
the colourful screen and that irritating beep sound..
it sounds exactly the same.. -_-
but on sony works just fine..

I think the entire purpose of it is quite stupid.
They say it's good because your teachers wont be able to hear it, I mean, haven't these kids heard of "silent mode"?

the purpose of this thread is to find out if these "silent" ringtone actually works. can the cheap speakers on mobile phone handset actually reproduce the high frequency, 17 khz as stated.

coz it is like selling dvd with HD resolution but our tv is still SD. or CD with 5.1 when our speaker system is stereo.

The reason why people don't want to use vibrate is cause vibration has noise and might not be felt by the "thick skin"... but seriously lah. How often is your classroom so quiet that you can hear phones vibrate? and most teachers don't care if they vibrate or not. They only care when you reply the message or phone call...
