building a buffer

other than the red colour cap(harder to find and can be replaced with similar values but different type of capacitor), the rest of the stuff in the list can be gotten from simlim tower, 3rd floor. Start with bell electronic and walk all around there to check. I can confirmed that other than the red cap and the hammond casing, the rest of the stuff can be gotten from there. For the PCB, you can get something called perf board for it. The circuit is straight forward enough to use perfboard instead of PCB.

hammond casing, another things hard to get over the shops. If really wanna, try ty music center to see if they have in stock.

if not hammond casing, you can get cheap plastic casing from simlim tower. Those are decent enough to be used.

If wanna diy, the cost for everything with plastic casing and similar values red cap(but different type) plus the rest of the components, under $15, is really really possible to make one.

if need someone to make for you. Check with them for the price.

oh, and a mod that can be include in the buffer to make it a clean boost as well..

add the red parts in between point 2 and 6 on the buffer schematic(and the other end of the 2,2k resistor, connect to R1, 2.2meg). Play around with the 2.2k resistor value can give a bigger/smaller boost.

this is simple TS,

don have to spend money to buy the service from pedal builder..
advise to read more, practise some soldering skill..

then try it on your own

^ Although true at a certain extend, the question would be whether or not the TS has the basic electronic skills, and desire to go through the hassle of learning in the first place.

Sometimes, it's wiser to let the technicalities, simple or otherwise, be left in the hands of the enthusiasts. It's all about playing, at the end of the day.

2 cents. :)

buffers are one of the easiest thing to build.

know the hardest part of any diy?
Drilling holes on enclosures.

Anyway, the last time I saw some pretty decent aluminium enclosures at Yuanda 3rd floor Sim Lim Tower. I'm not sure if I got the name right but go up the escalator its on the left. Pricey though.
