Personal preferences, some bring for hygiene reasons, while some just bring cause mics at jam
places are damaged badly, while some just don't care and just use whatever that is avaliable
Our vox does bring his own mic as well. Its disappointing to go into a jamming room only to find that both mics have loose contacts and squeals waaay badly its impossible to jam with.
And hygiene reasons definitely. How many of you guys have had bad experience with foul smelling mics??
Me!! The mics sometimes are so stinky that I could still smell the breath of the last bad-breathed person all over it... one mic even made me retch.. I was making vomitting sounds over the mic in the end instead of singing...
I even caught bronchitis from a mic once..
Can someone suggest to me a good mic to buy other than shure *can't remember what number but it's the common good one*
i think only dedicated musicians actually bring thier own instruments. its quite a turn of when u're jamming with a band first time and no one else brings thier own instruments. i think its shows the level of dedication that person has towards their music.
ahaha the stench of mics does also depend on the profile of jammers at certain studios. I've gone into studios which are for nice Christian music and the equipment and room is just fine!!!
hola! can anyone suggest a entry level mic, preferbally
(*spelt wrongly i know) like below $50 like that? plan to get it as a gift to my band's vocalist.

Try shure or audio technica or seinheisser(spelling error?)
Yes. Very disgusting especially with these hardcore bands coming up that spit when they sing.
