Boutique & Hi End Pedals/Amps/Guitars Database.

Hi ChanMin, your concern is duly noted. And you're right.

I guess the difference between a harmony central review and a SOFT forum review is this. On harmony central, the reviews are done by people that almost all of us do not know. At least if our own Softies were to do the reviews, these are "real" people that we probably know of or have met through trading or by some other more "personal" means. Adds even more credibility to the reviews.

Speaking of reviews, I'm working out a slightly different format from Harmony Central. Yes there is a format, and i hope to get everyone's opinions before the format is finalised. I will post that in a new thread soon.

Bottomline is this.

One thread, All the links, All the reviews, all done by fellow SOFTIES that we all know which gives an even greater possiblity that if we're dead serious on buying that gear and would like to try it, we might be able to, if we ask politely.

Furthermore, this database will also eventually list local places that you can buy it from, as well as potential makers that our own local stores can consider distributing, which I hope to highlight in tme to come.

How many times have we said, "Oh I didn't know you guys brought this pedal in? Damn, I wasted my money on shipping..." or "There's such a pedal?" or "Eh, So-n-So has this setup? I didn't know that. Maybe I should chio him out for coffee and we can talk about it. Maybe he might even let me try." Get it?

The possibilities as to what can be achieved with such a database is limitless. New friendships will be built and we can all improve together. I would like to meet new people with different setups and we can exchange informaton. There's a chance that when you list a link, you probably have already done your research on it or know someone who has.

So with that said, those who would like to contribute to this database, pls do so. Those that don't, feel free to look around. I'm going back to my research now. Pls excuse me. :D

Yeah, its all in the spirit of sharing... and there's a SHARE thread stickied up there, so your database can link to that.

ADA Depot
http://adadepot.com
This is a great resource site about the ADA amp. Schematics, manuals, etc... It also has links to other very useful site for tube amp owners.

Also to add,

Groove Tubes
http://www.groovetubes.com/
Groove tube site. Founded by Aspen Pittman whom I consider as one of the best "Tube Guy" I've ever known. There's probably already a "Groove Tube" in your tube amp. It also contains a tube reference as to what tube goes to which amp. Useful if you're considering retubing. Groovetubes also sells the patented Fat Finger which basically is a piece of brass that attaches itself to the neck, hence adding mass and improves tone.

ZZ Ryder Guitars
http://www.zzryder.com/
Uses Groove Tubes patented Fathead. The fathead inproves tone and sustain by adding mass to the headstock. Something like the fat finger.
