hey guys, i got another (noobish) question. im thinking of getting a booster, what do you guys reccomend to get a nice crisp clear sound? i'm thinking of the goosonique boosty, but how about teh ehx LPB1 or MXR mircoamp?

Hey Dude,
Try Durham Electronics SexDrive. Just got one. Bloody awesome. Super clean, cripsy and makes your pedals sound a whole lot better and clearer.

Yeah, US$219 exc shipping. May seem hefty but this is really worth the buck... Save a while longer.. If you are really keen and willing to save and pay the price, pm me. I'll let you try when I'm free. :D

Gsonique Boosty

+1

I bought one. Excellent booster, great price.... has treble/bass eq to tweak your tone, has a gain control - its more like presence, nice to add more bite or smoothen your tone. Its not compressed.

EH LPB1 booster.

Best bang for the buck commercial booster. It boost loud like any booster should.

Got one piece in stock now going for $90.

Regarding the RC Booster...

Personally... I don't like it...

When used with distortion, I find the mids tend to get muddied up, its not very clear in the mids. Big deal? Nope. But for the price its asking for... personally, I would expect better.

It also add compression which, some people may like.

Shredcow: how does your boosty compared to RC? I kinda wana downsize my drive pedals to just 1 dist & a booster & im searching for a transparent clean boost. Thanks

Hmm.

+1 for the LPB-1 not just because I use one and I did a review on it  but for those on a budget.. it's pretty much there for build quality and performance.

Does everything the RC does, except overdrive... well, you could lah (upping the Boosty's gain/precense control really high) but its transistor od, its different so... yeap.

A/B-ed, very similiar... the differences are more apparent when using with distortion, as I mentioned about the RC above.

I really liked the boosty when i tried it...if i had to get a booster..it would probably be the boosty...good pedal and well priced...plus the customer service is top notch

as for the RC,Ive tried it quite a few times...to push dirt pedals...it sounded awful to me...to push fender amps it wasnt too bad...ah but pushing a marshall amp(jcm800 in particular)...it sounded just awesome...
