please, i need help...what kinda boosters (to boost my leads) is there available in the local market? i wanna get one..and it would be great if u know the price too..

and i wanna know what is a clean boost..and is there any other boosters? (distortion boost or something)

i'm really not that well-versed in boosters..so yeah, need the help..

thx in advance..

and issit possible for me to just place a distortion pedal in my chain to boost my leads? my gear is currently guitar>95Q>MT-2>CE-2>Amp

like if i place a DS-2/DS-1 as a booster....will it work?

Boost means to make the signal louder.

So you have option of clean boost, which makes everything louder with no change in any frequencies or anything. It should sound like you've just turned the amp volume up with clean headroom to spare.

Then you have dirty boosts, which add harmonic overtones. Some people prefer this over clean boosts.

Then you have frequency boosts. A tubescreamer used as a boost will give you a mid frequency boost. Or you could use an EQ pedal with the frequencies you want boosted. Boosting the right frequencies will enable you to cut through the band mix nicely.

It also depends on your application of a boost. Clean boosting a signal into an amp or pedal with lots more clean headroom will result in a volume increase in volume only. Clean boosting a signal into an overdriven amp or pedal will result in an increase in gain, which sometimes but not always leads to an increase in volume also.

I can only say, experiment experiment experiment.

Dude.. I doubt the MT2 can react much with the guitar volume knob. I say just get a volume pedal for your volume boost or the MXR micro amp (although I've no experience with it  ).

Erm... seriously, not really. depends how you dial your MT2 and what amp you are using, how you dial it in. I've even seen people use MT2 for blues, believe it or not.

If you just want lots of gain, but louder, just put a volume/boost pedal after the MT2.

MT2s can supposedly be used as a decent boost..i think cannibal corpse and decapitated use that in conjunction with dual rectos. gain down, volume dimed..

urmm i want a volume boost..thats all...coz i'm a rhythm guitarist just that at some parts of songs...i need to play some solos and i need to cut through the band..

what type of clean boosters are out there? is an EQ the safest bet to boost my sound?

and what do you mean i can use MT-2 as a boost? i mean..my amp is on clean...i use the MT-2 for distortion..

I've seen it before also... the fella not only played soulful "blues", he ended up shredding over it... CMI.

AEnimic, ur budget please? Before I recommend you a Zvex Super Hard On or some outrageous booster that would have Shredcow pm-ing u if can try when u get it.

If u want cheaper alternative for TS9, a Boss SD1 is a very good choice. If you want clean boost, as ChanMin says Xotic RC Booster is a good choice.

owning both pedals, i wouldn't say the DS1 is a TS9 alternative per se, the former has a more raunchy response while the tubescreamers in general has a smoother drive response.

for non-drive boosters, i still favour my Micro Amp.

Blues lah. You don't have to turn up the gain high you know. And you don't have to feed it into a 15 watter amp without headroom either. And you don't have to use high output pickups lah.

Or you really feel that only Vox is for the brueess? :P If so, so be it.

hur hur hur.... thanks shreddy.... my bank account looks more balanced these days....

but look out for the limited edition om labs pedals in 2020!!! hur hur hur....
