Blackheart Amps

Hi mate,

Trust me, 5 watts cranked is quite loud for home use. If you want more headroom go for 15, this will be plenty of power. I have Tiny terror, its not my cup of tea, though some people love it, when they try it at my house they wet themselves. Personal pref really. This will be really surprising, though on the TT I dislike the overdrive, but the cleans to semi breakup, on bridge single coil, sounds like heaven.

Ive tried a hiwatt 5W I think, but I didnt really like it, no distortion! Decent cleans, but not really that sparky, probably needs a booster pedal or something for dirt.

I am really keen to try a Blackheart but I dont think anyone here supplies them, post some clips someone!

U can come over my place and give it a try if u want to bro...:)

Wish to read more on tube amps/head room and such. There's a guitar gear sticky by thor666 on the forum but the links do not seem to work. Been moved or thread is deleted?

Went to check out the price and indeed it is only slightly above 500 for a set of head/cab combo. But I am weighing out the option of getting the VTX which is gonna cost abt 100 bucks less and would be more practical for home use and recording, though a stack would make me really warm and fuzzy to look at in my room, heh.

Ultimately, versatility would probably the deciding factor. Anybody tried comparing BOTH amps side by side while they're testing?

hey guys, any review on the cab for the combo set?
i'm thinking if i should get other cabs instead... issit a 1x12 cab or 1x10?

I just tried it at yamaha PS. It's very loud for a small amp head but I don't find it's tone appealing. Personally I think the laney TF series amp was more warm and had great tone.

its a single ended tube amp. magic comes when ya crank it up. which the people at yamaha probably won't be too happy about. so do it at sunshine plaza's resolution audio instead. or try it at whoever's willing to allow you.

i've read that blackheart amps were created with the intention of modding. is it true? and could this be a reason why there are people selling off their amps like after owning then for a week?

Im not too sure but it could be a possibility. Hah.
Personally, the sound don't quite cut it. There's just something missing in the overall tone.
And i don't think a change of pickups would make the blackheart awesome either. That's not the point too. There's really a lack of something that i can't put a finger too.

Then again, even at it's 3 watt toggle, it's pretty blasting even for a small outdoor stage.

And the price for it seems reasonable enough. :D
