bill lawrence pickup

My 1st single coils were Bill Lawrence L200s, neck and middle pickups. I was impressed with the way they sounded on Goose's old guitar setup and I thought I could do with that tubular, hollow-ish single coil sound (on a 22 fret neck)... best of all, its NOISELESS!!!

Well, okay, not 100% noiseless but like 85% noiseless, which is really good!

Of course, as my 1st single coils, I've not nothing to compare against but I've got this to say...

@ 40USD per pickup, the BLs are serious bang for buck. And they work. Quiet, toneful, dynamic stuff... I really enjoy playing with them now.

The neck pup is really something, on my mahogany bodied guitar, I can play low register rhythms and it maintains good clarity and tightness - but it obviously still maintains the neck pup tone.

Here's a little clip.

You can hear when the neck pup is being played... the bridge humbucker (HSS guitar) is a wonderful HAS Sound Legacy. Very clear, warm-ish humbucker that screams when you dig in.

Somethings you don't really get when going with high output stuff.
