Big bands, big mistakes!

The next time you're playing a gig, and something messes up, don't fret too much. Keep in mind even the big bands of the world make live mistakes too.

Check this video out by Evanescence, a live performance of My Immortal.
3.10 mark.

The band comes in out of tune, half a step out of it and ten giant leaps of embarrassment! It's incredibly horrible sounding. Not entirely their fault though. Still, it sounds very crappy.

Please share your videos here of big bands that have made big live mistakes!

To err is human! So don't feel too bad if one of your own live performances don't go exactly to plan.

Here's another live mistake by Bon Jovi. Wanted Dead Or Alive.

And some major blunders by Muse

KISS too :)

Even the mighty U2 makes mistakes every rare once in a while. :) Gotta love it when Adam just stands there with a "WTH IS GOING ON!" expression on his face. lol

@macca, yes agreed. :) If theres a mistake and had to restart meaning longer set. And its very rare to see such mistakes.. :)

I'm a noob here. Just recently more into music...
Just curious how many players is considered a big band? :)

The ones at the top of my head right now are probably John Frusciante's last performance with RHCP(before he rejoined) at Conan or some talkshow. They played under the bridge and frusciante was really out of his mind and sounded terrible(probably on purpose). Or the one where Zack De La Rocha of Rage against the machine jumped from the top of an amp stack and sprained his ankle.

Tom DeLonge is terrible in most live performances anyway. Anyone remember Blink 182's reunion performance of All The Small Things? My god...I think a guitar dropped down six flights of stairs would be more in tune than his singing.

Travis Barker was awesome though, as usual.

Here's a video of Liquid Tension Experiment's Universal Mind with Petrucci screwing up somewhere about 7mins into the song, but mad props to him for being able to get back into the song so smoothly!

That was at snl.i kinda liked the intro but the verse was a big time cock up.

The other song they performed at snl and another screw up.

Marilyn Manson - Beautiful People live
Funny part at about 0.48 haha!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnShbOLqjas

Amazing how John 5 just carries on with the song, Manson doesnt really give a sh!t about his band haha!

John 5 + Twiggy made Marilyn manson the band (not the man) they were!
After they were fire / left, Manson the man started sucking big time.

He made a smart move getting Twiggy back.

Real crappy attitude to John 5 though, but funny! lol. I think it was an accident on Manson's part. Didn't look like an intentional kick. Still, when Manson first sings "And I don't want you, and I don't need you" you could almost think that he was referring to John 5 in that instance lol.

White Zombie:

The drummer couldn't get the beat at the beginning, bassist had to come in and give him time.

This is not the best performance from White Zombie, cause Rob Zombie's really tired from running around during the whole gig, but they are generally a damn solid and heavy lively band on almost all other occasions.

On a side note, just stumbled across this:
Def Leppard - Let's Get Rocked live

Ah man, the memories... :)

lol omg! just look at the confused faces at 7:46! haha rare to see such screw ups!

edit:

he only missed either 1 or 2 bars though, but they all could detect the mistake immediately. how they do it beats me actually.. it's difficult enough to hear the mistake from that vid and live already.

I read in an interview somewhere that Manson once destroyed John's pedal board in a show so he kept most it in a rack later on. But c'mon... your own guitarist...

But seriously, his work with Rob Zombie and his solo stuff is really good and he seems to be a really nice guy in interviews and guitar clinics.
