Battery Life Of An Active EMG Pickup?

imkeith - any setup ought to have a good amp. Whether its an 8" speaker, 10" or 12"... get the right amp for the job and things just sound much better.

By the way, does the wattage matter? Yes it does... but is it ALL that matters? No. What about transformer efficiency? The tubes used? Or is it solid state? What speakers are used? How is the cabinet constructed?

Oh, about EMGs... I give up on them because of the battery. Yes, it lasts long before the cleans start to break up (i.e. low voltage = low headroom) but man, way before that happens, I could heard/feel my tone changing as the battery drained. It was really annoying and I actually got pretty irked as it was quite a big difference. Honestly, I think that this isn't a case of pre-conceived notions; I had no idea that this would happen in the first place.
