Bad Attitude Found At Davis

so far no bad experience in davis, cos never ask for expensive guitar try outs..wanna get a marshall tube amp but think i'll receive the 'davis service' ..this sucks..

Maybe the new guitars are stuffed somewhere like, in a storehouse or something? But in the countless times I've bought things from there, they've always been good...even during the time when I testing out my humbucker...I didn't even know I didn't press the distortion button on the amp until one dude pressed for me, lol...

Gr3y's account makes me think if Mediacorp is trying to do a Boiling Point like MTV's, haha...

I've been going to Davis since they 1st opened waaaayyy back (the very small ex Silver tailor shop in Peninsula B1)...always had THE BEST service of all from them...better than any other guitar shop in S'pore in my expirience - hence why I still go there as a loyal customer..... 8)

don't compare yourself with the kids here lah... you how old already... of course David knows you lah!

Who's comparing myself with youngsters? - I'm stating a point that from Day 1 when I was a guitar buying noob always had good service and good price from them....better service than many other places though I know most of the guitar shop ppl...

Service is a two way street IMHO... the door swings both ways .....

It may go both ways but I think that people are on to something when there are so many bad reports about Davis... To be honest I'm one of them too -- I was looking at the Fender Jap basses (comparing between that and the OLP MMs) a few months ago when the Chinese fella came up to me and told me not to touch the basses in a pretty "what the hell do you think you're doing" tone -- all I was doing was checking the neck for thickness! I ended up giving my money to Ishibashi for the Fender instead, and they treated me way better than anyone at Davis (with the exception of Janet) ever did, sight unseen.

My friend wanted to try out the PRSes there; we got flak from them ("Try one is try all the same", anybody ever got that? It was the second guitar he was trying there and they wouldn't even let him touch it) and my friend ended up buying his PRS direct from the US.

Point is, I am willing to pay for good service, but most of the people at Davis won't let me. I'm mostly fine with buying stuff over the counter (picks, strings, pups, small stuff, also because Janet is more than nice enough) from them; it's just the stuff opposite the counter that I won't touch.

Just offering my 2 cents here.

I think we need to move on. Going back to 10 years ago will not solve anything. I have never been very comfortable at Davis even though I've probably spent a few thousands over there last few years. Tremonti SE and a Gibson SG 61' RI (which is still my no. 1).

Maybe some softie with good connections to them can invite a rep and have a talk-it-out session here. If nothing changes, go with where you think your money should go to.

All IMHO only.

I'm not saying I haven't moved on -- if I hadn't I wouldn't be going back there to buy stuff in the first place lah. I'm just highlighting the majority opinion (not fact, we haven't scientifically proven that one yet ;)) here that the service at Davis leaves something to be desired. I know where my money's going :? (well actually no... it just seems to disappear and all this gear suddenly appears out of nowhere)

wow hey i dun get what are you trying to say..

I think we all need a thrash out talking with someone from davis and something must be done.. unless they seriously dun want us as their customers..its is because most of the things they are selling are only sold by them that makes them so cocky? thats totally unfair for local market.. hey i noe janet does use soft, correct me if i'm wrong.Someone who knows anyone from davis do ask em to read the 7page(so far) long thread!

Lol, what I meant is that what happened to you is like MTV's Boiling Point where they piss people off for a time limit and then tell them that they're on the show and then give them money...but of course you weren't on any show and you got nothing, lol...

i guess we gotta chose the right time to go davis...hahaha...i haven recieve any of the so-called "davis service" yet...cos everytime i go..its a pretty good trip...

Heh you never know! Davis guitar is just testing your patience out. Obviously no one could tahan them for 4 hours.

Try next time, if one of the sales person try to piss you off, endure for 4 hours. Then....

YOU WIN AN ESP!
