The Contest

City Music has come onboard to sponsor a Line 6 Toneport as the prize for the winner of this little competition.

How to take part

1. Download the melody
2. Compose a song which include the given melody. It could be any where in the song as long as it is recognisable.
3. Song should not be less than 2 mins or more than 3 mins.
4. Send a copy of your song as MP3 (128kbps) to info@soft.com.sg
5. Include your name, nric, soft_username, mobile contact in the email
6. Deadline for submission is 6th March.
7. Will post all entries onto SOFT for voting on the 7th March.
8. Will close voting and announce winner on 13th March.

Frankly, i never expected the stuff to be so good man, great job!

Song 01 [1] (soso, points awarded for creativity using efx)
Song 02 [2] (Quite creative on this one, nice jazz feel for the piano)
Song 03 [3] (Was totally blown off by the violin and strings, i absolutely love this one, nice guitar solo too ^^)
Song 04 [3] (when the strings came in i was O.O.. glued to this song, its great man, i absolutely love the string melody. Nice use of choir pads too. )
Song 05 [1] ( pure shred, nothing special )
Song 06 [2] ( nice use of chords, very lovey-dovey feel haha.. its nice but not impressive)
Song 07 [2] ( jazz piece , not bad, nice again but not as impressive as the others)
Song 08 [2] ( Its a nice piece to listen to, creativity usage here and there, but its not very attractive, but still nice feel to it)
Song 09 [1] (No offence, but sounds like your trying to practice some piece...)
Song 10 [2] (I love the vocals for this one, nice backing strings and guitar accompliment, has a special feel to it. )
Song 11 [3] (The voice sounds like he could win american idol O>O.. lolol, awesome man, totally blew me away for this one!!! Great guitars too)

Song 07 : 3 (My most favourite. Good melody line composed. Simple arrangement but nice. Very catchy. Although time signature different from given one, but still can recognise the theme melody. Give me a feeling of having a cold drink at summer beach....)

Song 08 : 2 (should put in more idea on the theme melody)

Song 09 : 1 (luckily I still manage to found the 4 bar theme melody)

Song 10 : 2 (nice. But away from theme melody, else higher point)

Sorry if you guys feel offended man. I just gave 1 to the songs that just didn't catch my attention. Lots were nice but really lacked the killer touch. Would have given a higher rating if the scale range was like from 1-10.
