man tt wood is gorgeous. its cocobolo. looks damn similar to brazilian rosewood. haha but id rather de artist series. man. it looks more swell than a gibson. haha. heard it in action b4. it has superb clarity. 2 thumbs up... :D

this Korean AR will cost you about $1K, i dunno if it's still available @ swee lee...

i've tried it persosnally & it feels & sounds tops. sceptics might put it down, reason being it's too 'Les Paul' like. if you appreciate good tone & feel regardless of the brand name, it's one heck of a guitar...

however, the japanese scorcher shown below, retails for about $3K...

chan min:sorry to have hijacked your post quite a bit...

that's right, it's considered mid-priced for such set-neck type of guitars (set-neck not a cheap construction...). if you like the shape of the AR series, there's a more affordable spin-off in the form of the AX series...

de guitars r cool. but i kinda feel tt de pickup switch is in de wrong place but hell i think de design is nicer than a gibson. de neck looks more made to play. haha. :D

the big difference... is in the construction of the body... firstly the Musician is NECK THRU. artists..have set necks... though have " flame " but still not as nice leh... id rather do without the flame .
the musician has some "sandwich" wood body... with mahogany core and dunno what other wood sides..and a 5/7pc maple neckthru with ebony fret board.

had a chat with the uncle from guitar 77. he owned one of these really long ago... but said the pickups were horrible... too trebly and screechy. but the guitar's potential is obvious.. slap on a nice pair of seymoure duncan antiquities...or EMGS.... and you will most probably be in HEAVEN.

some thing about those tiny toggle switches just makes it so "recording" guitar...
too bad these are way way out of production... most of the models on the net are roughly from 1977 - 1982' saw one on ebay.. some aussie dude selling his model ( 7/10 ) with a leather strap and a boss pedal
everything for about 600-700SGD. But got So many bids... haha sure get good price...

well time to check the attic and storeroom guys..never know maybe your grandfather or dad had one stored away and forgot about it.

the center of gravity for artist type guitars needs getting used to. because its quite odd. The neck doesn't point upwards like other guitars, instead, it tends to be horizontal....

Hence, not all people like to use these guitars.
