Does anyone have practising problem? Is like u keep practising the riff or solo over and over again for long period of time but u still cannot get it.

Is like practise don't make perfect.

Anyone have this problem?

parctice with wrong technique = wont ever get it. or get it the wrong way

let me rephrase, its perfect practice that makes perfect.

in most cases, it constant practice and tweaking your style to make it playable. also finger strength and speed play big parts in solo's and riffs. work on those.

thats one of the reason why having music teacher is impt...or to have someone who's much better than you to point out your mistake and how to do things systematically

if still cannot:
1.take knife

2.cut apple
3.eat
4.play again

it's frustrating, but sometimes when you can't do it..you just need to leave it alone then go play other songs..then one day when you try that song again, you can play it..

I'm not a tutored guitarist..so yeah,thats how I do it..

Mebbe you expect too much too soon. Lets say for example, you only know how to play chords, then you heard steve vai tender surrender and you got the tabs and learnt to read it. And you try to play it.

In this case, you will never get it no matter how hard you try bcos its way of the current level. Try simpler stuff and wrk towards the harder stuff cos as you play simpler stuff, its easier to spot your flaws and refine your technique.

Or wrong technique:

Imagine this.

You want to shoot a curling ball like David Beckham. But you didnt know you are supposed to kick the ball nearer at the side. So you keep shooting the ball straight and practise 8 hours a day.

Your straight ball become deadly accurate, but you still can't curl that damn ball.

0.o is that the correct example of explaining the learning technique with kicking the ball?

dude. pace the riff slower and then pick it up at a slower pace. let your fingers have the feel to the riff then u speed up. thats how i learn.

cheers.

eh pigskin dont get mad at me saying this. but there could a few reasons on why you,re not getting it right

Number 1 : like what markedymark , dhalif and most of the guys are saying. maybe ur doing it the wrong way.

Number 2 , you,re practicing something outta your league. for example , learning to run before you walk

Number 3 : your long period of time actually isnt really long at all. I,ve been practicing tough stuff for over a year and still cant get it to fully sound nice and everything.

My advice. If its scenario 1. get some help find out what you,re doing wrong.
If ( i hope it isnt but theres always the possibility ) that its 2 or 3 then just practice even more and dont complain. After all , rome wasnt built in a day ya?

Peace.

just keep on practicin.......some got it faster, some got it slower.....the main thing is just dont give up.....its hard but once u got it, u just cant stop......take it step by step....if its complicated, break it into small pieces, n practice tat piece first, then move on to the next step......dont worry practice will certainly improves u........ :)

hi, I share your problem.

Sometimes, we may tend to play around aimlessly too much. Find your objective of each of your practice session and try to follow it.

And take it slowly. Playing the song with a band can also help

eh no sports got practice..

like basketball , practice your dribbling , 3 pointer.
golf practice your swing.
softball practice your pitching , batting. etc..

well...i think there r people who got that music "soul"....these people they dont really need to practice....they just grab the guitar n beauty'll come out.....and there are other kind of people.....kinda like me :) ......who doesn't really have that "soul".........the only thing i can do is just keep on practicin n hopin tat someday, finally i got tat "soul".........n it still a long way for me..... :D
