Few Questions, about buying from website from a foreign music stores. I believe there's some issues in regards with instrument being brought in, let say from US. If I buy a certain instruments that require electricity, Singapore uses 220 v whilst US uses 110 v. So the questions

1. Which webite provide international shipping? And which one has the lower cost?
2. Any recommendation on which foreign internet music store sells cheap music instruments? Maybe drum products? Oh Ya cheap shipping too if compare to a local music store
3. Any one faces any issues after ordering music instruments from an internet base music store? (e.g Musiciansfriend. Music 123, samash.) Like the instruments arrive super late, as in a month or so, or maybe Singaproe customs confiscate or imply too high custom charges. Or maybe, to get those instruments repaired etc. etc.
4. How do you guys convert those electrical issues?
5. How safe is it to buy online? Anyone faces any Credit card issues eg. money get struck twice the amount and do not know where your money goes after making an online transaction. etdc.

Thanks

I buy guitar parts online all the tyme, SOT bassist buys BASSES from US and online all the tyme - no worries...

electricity - make sure of course its 220V ...most sites lists the voltage.

go ahead man just do it as the nike ad says

I may be wrong but is buying from overseas sites more costly than buying here? Cos there`s still the shipping cost etc...anyone care to enlighten me on this one? : P

For electrical Issues, most musical equipment runs on a dual voltage thing.
110VAC - 230VAC. If the equipment you are gonna buy is rated at that, it's not a worry. But if it is rated at 110VAC, you'll need to go to Sim Lim and get yourself a step-up transformer.

Faizal_rocks: not quite true about buying it here is much more cheaper after the shipping cost taken into consideration. I bought many items inclusive of (newly and not used) non-electrical instruments from Ebay and it is cheaper compared to a local music store. But now I'm wanting to buy some instruments not listed on Ebay, but on those online stores. Therefroe the posed questions on the initial thread.

By the way guys, any recommendation on that online stores?
