Thinking of getting a drive/boost pedal that goes well with my crunchbox. Will prolly need something that will allow my solos to cut through. And if used alone can gimme a nice vintage overdrive for stuffs classic rock stuffs. I was thinking of the lovepedals but i m not sure which one would do the job. And also the RC or AC booster by Xotic. I m quite lost man hope ya guys can help me out. Thanks! =)

actually if cutting is the issue, i'd suggest a cheap and simple method. get a boss ge-7. raise the output level by a bit and raise the mids. that should help u cut through for solos.

if u have much cash to spare, try the diamond boost eq, or the empress paraEQ w/boost. those dont come cheap though

hi im using my bb preamp plus to drive my crunchbox. With the crunchbox on a low gain setting i get a nice rock rhythm tone and with the bb punched in, i get a nice meaty boost in volume, saturation and sustain. Works for me, hope this helps :)

MI Audio Blues Pro

if you just want to cut, get a boost such as the catalinbread super chili picoso. the eq suggestion is good as well.

Assuming you already like your basic tone with the CB, i guess you just want more of it so what you you need it a clean booster. Depending on your budget, go for either a Super Chili picoso or a Lizard Leg Flying Dragon and put it at the end of your chain.

hahah i wanted to get that boost, but its just too many boosts in a box, i just need a one trick pony.

anyway i second the catalinbread super chili picoso, its a mainstay on my board and it really just gives ur guitar the edge during a solo when engaged, its more, and louder too.

The best combo for this? The MI Audio Tubezone OD. Great companion...

For me, I use a Boss OD3 with my Metal Zone or my MultiFX or just the amp..
kinda happy with the sound, especially the high gains.

Never tried using an equalizer, but i think u can shape the tone more becoz of the Equalization.

Hope this helps..

Hmmmm my recommendations would be a keeley katana, gsonique boosty, or a barber ltd silver or SR. Personally i use the katana for clean boost/vol boost (very clean and linear with lots of headroom), and the ltd silver for a clean/silghtly overdriven boost for my other direct drive and 7theaven. Both works really great imo.
