well, i'm not a pro-fx user, so in my opinion, the zoom doesn't colour my sound too much, it retains the nature of my amp and guitar. the KORG sounds good, but I'd much prefer the zoom, its more versatile too i guess.
How's bout Behringer V-Amp X, Multi-efx w/exp pedal. Reaks of cheap plastic as the casing (same as zoom 50X 60X). But loaded to the brim wif features. Got one of those on me shelf going fer abt 150. Wonder how's the review on these cheapo stuffs.
Maybe I can shed some light on the X-vamp since I own one. Don't ever use it direct through an amplifier. Plug it in through the return channel for its true sounds.
Overall, I find it pretty good to use. It just needs tweaking and playing around with. Also, it has a lot of noise but has a built in noise gate so that solves the problem. But be sure not to 'overuse' the noise gate and compressor, it'll kill your guitar's tone.
Enigma, u got sample tone of this behringer stuff?
What kinda stuff that u play?
Im not sure if its versatile or not, i mean the clean tone should be ok, but what abt the high gain tone..??
Nope, I don't have samples. What type of stuff I play. ok. I play mostly clean and slightly overdriven stuff. Delay and chorus also but rarely. Occasionally a wah.
However, I've cranked it up to heavy distortion before. It sounds pretty good. But nothing can beat a Marshall Valve amp though (I'm talking about the older ones. not the newer AVT series). The only drawback is that the X-vamp responds differently on different guitars and it needs a lot of eq and playing around before you can get the sound you want.
You can try it at Luther's I think. He should have one in stock.
