Alesis DM6 Kit. Can I get separate drum tracks?

hi. im interested in alesis dm6 kit.

Im wondering with its usb function, when i record it into cubase, does it have ASIO drivers for me to record snare, kick, toms, etc separately?

The usb on the module is for sending midi signal to trigger external drum vst library if not wrong

to record separately, you need to be able to route physically, either the individual audio channel(of the e drum kit) into cubase or using different midi channels to send midi messages into cubase, with each channel assigned to trigger different software drum library sound and thus able to record individually.

What you wanna is a physical routing of the different sound/midi signal to trigger drum library in the daw(thus able to record separately) while the asio driver is meant as shortcut(thus reducing latency) for signal processing between a daw and soundcard in the background, transparent to user.

What do you actually want to do?

The DM6 only has one audio stereo audio output (1/8"), I believe.

The way to go about doing it is to record using midi. Your drums will be recorded into a track. You can split that midi track later into individual midi tracks if you want to. The key is to get the midi recording in.

Next is to record the audio. This depends on whether you want the drums sound to be from the DM6 or other software drum samplers like SD2. If you want to record the sound of DM6 in individual AUDIO tracks, you'll have to do that individually one at a time because DM6 doesn't have individual outputs for each drum/tom/cymbal etc. The question is - why would you want to do that. If you want really picky about the sound of individual drums and want to tweak each one with different effects etc, the best way is to use software drum samples - ie SD2, BFD etc. You get more flexibility.
