Advice on amps.

Hey all, I need some advice on amps because I was thinking of getting a new one before getting a better guitar, what I have in mind is the Crate FW15R and I'm currently using a Randall KH15. So I'm hoping for some advice. I play mostly metal though I do try a bit of other stuff too (rock etc.) . I'm open to suggestions for other amps also, budget around $150 and I'm only looking for practice amps. Thanks!

P.s something with a really high gain metal crunch would be what I have in mind.

I recommend you check out an Ibanez TBX15R/TBX30R. The onboard distortion is great!.

If you want to move on to pedals, a Vox Pathfinder or Fender Frontman will do.

What's wrong with the Randall.. To "upgrade" your amp to another 15W amp that is of the same calibre and offers almost the same features won't do you much good.

Best thing is to save up more and get a better amplifier then the one you're looking at now.. Although the jump from a 6.5" speaker to a 12" speaker will have a huge impact on sound, I would still say get something better.. :mrgreen:

as above; you are switching from one 15W amp to another. i'd suggest you consider the Ibanez TBX30R (as suggested in previous post) or the Randall's Ninja Combo...
