hey guys i have a warwick rockbass and there's a problem with the strap nob.
The screw that keeps the nob in place with the bass keeps coming out.

i suspect that the groove for the screw to catch onto in the wood of the bass is already "botak" hence the screw can just slip out.

How do i fix this?
thanks in advance :)

get wood filler to fill up the hole den redrill it..or u can glue it in with super glue or u can u can get dunlop strap locks..they give u screw that are slightly bigger den normal ones...i dun support the superglue method btw,cos if u ever wana remove it it would be a headache...but it works!haha hope i helped...

if you send to a guitar shop, shud take a few days..
cost-wise im not too sure.. range of 15-30dollars?

personally, its better to send to shops as its professionally done.

Here's the simple cheap method.

Go to your nearest neighborhood shop and buy some cheap matches and some wood glue (if you can't find wood glue, super-glue will do).

Procedure for the repair itself.
First remove the loose screw
then
Take out one match and coat the stick in glue.
then insert the match into the hole none sticking end first.
break off the excess match
Repeat until you cannot force anymore matches into the hole
Leave overnight for glue to dry.

The next day, drive the screw back in where the hole once was(no need to drill a new hole).
The soft wood of the matches will compress allowing the screw to go in.

Are you sure shops are professionally done?
I had some very bad experiences last time with some unnamed shops here doing a really lousy job. now i try to DIY everything!

aye... the old 'if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself' situation (or pay alot of money for a good job)

yupps.... i do this quite often and it works. I just use a tooth pick though, and using super glue i only wait about 5 min before screwing it back in. This method hasn't failed on me yet. :)
