A Personal Recommendation: Trem Users fall in

Even JP doesn't abuse his trem as much as Satriani or even Vai...
Notice that JP doesn't really use the trem much when he switched to EBMM...
There was much more whammy abuse on the first few DT records...
But far from Vai/Satch's standards...

Very nice, I might actually get one for myself, although I don't really use my trem all that much.

Could you share more details on how it works?

What details do you need?

hmmm... basically, it replaces the trem claw section of a tremolo system. The original trem claw is replaced by the Sure Claw.

So you have an allen key to adjust the position of the Claw and you can adjust as much as you like till the steel wears/breaks/disintegrates about I dunno... probably longer than the wood on your guitar. :)

This Sure Claw system seems to rid the guitar (my guitar with FR) of the warble (well, most of the warble) many FR-equipped guitars "suffer" from, without deadening the tone.

I also find the tension of the floyd now seems more even than before.

I can still do flutter.

I am not sure abt the perceived tone changes or sustain changes. I think there's a little more low end, a little more mids and improved sustain, however, I could be wrong. The difference is not enough for me to confidently proclaim it.

Very interesting!

I just might order one and check it out for myself, I recently got a guitar fitted with a floyd trem (not sure which variant), most likely the OFR I believe.

I'll place this in the list of mods I am contemplating getting done, also I've been thinking of adding graph tech floyd saddles, I've got major floyd phobia from string breakage!

I have been doing a couple of upgrades myself - more than the sure claw - like stainless steel locking nut screws, SS saddle screws and SS string locks. All from a site called floydroseupgrades.

I also purchased a solid brass block but alas... it will not fit the Gotoh because Gotoh uses different size mounting screws + the holes inthe base plate are different.

If your FR is indeed the OFR, the block will be a direct retrofit. If you wanna try it - lemme know. More tone, more sustain apparently.

Also, with regards to the graphtech thing - hold your horses. Play the hell out of the guitar first. If you don't experience string breakage in the first place, then there is no reason to consider changing right?

Thanks man, I will check it out.

Yeah I guess I'll take a wait and see approach, but I can't help but have an overwhelming phobia considering my experience with Lo-pro edge saddles! LOL.
