ALOHA
It's the 2nd year of the group that I coached going for the final of the International Ukulele Contest in Hawaii, the land of ukulele itself. It's amazing to realize how the aloha spirit from Hawaii positively "infects" our globe, even causing some revival in our beloved small tropical island of Singapore, and now it's coming back to Hawaii through our local talents, SURE (Singapore Ukulele Revival) ukulele ensemble.
While they'll be enjoying their Hawaii trip we want also want to experience some aloha celebration locally. It's gonna be so fun
I'm so glad to be collaborating again with ToriYard since our last year event there.
Get ready for some solo ukulele performance by yours truly, some performance by SURE, some music/ukulele game, ukulele jam session and sing along (bring along your uke, or other instruments, or just sing with us).
And on top of that, joining as guest performer of the night is Kapuanani Namiko Takahashi Chan-Lee, director and principal dancer with the Ka Lei Maile Hi'ilani School of Hawaiian Dance (the Singapore extension of Kumu Leihi'ilani's dance school in Kaua'i). Kapuanani and her husband Aaron Lee are community artists, aloha ambassadors and co-founders of the Laniakea Culture Collective - http://www.laniakea.la/
Beside sharing her experience and performing some hula dance beautifuLELEy, Namiko will teach us some interesting Hawaiian hula dance to follow, accompanied by Aaron & I on ukulele and my lovely wife Santy P. Adiprodjo on vocal. We're so looking forward to our celebration

It's SUREly gonna be a fun & memorable authentic Hawaiian night not to be missed. Make your booking now and see you there.
Meanwhile, here's some tropical feel of ukulele, a Hawaiian version (Iz' version) of Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World.
