Custom Guitars in the Making

Hey guys just wanted to show you guys the projects I've been working on recently.

Currently I'm making 2 of each 6, 7 and 8 string guitars.

1st one that was done was my 8 string from 3 years back, the second one is WIP.

Next up is a neckthru 6/7 string, not decided yet!

Wow, impressive. You did everything at home?
The 8-string looks good, it reflects alot about your guitar-making skills, which is really good.
Thanks for sharing, it's inspiring. :)

Yeap thanks, I'm working at home cuz can't afford a workshop yet, have to clean up everyday.

About neck angle, do you guys have any idea how a flat angle will affect playing comfort?

wow you are pretty serious about this. impressive work. what got you into building guitars? do you do this for a living?

I've been into woodworking since a young age and I got into guitar making when I needed an 8 string and there wasn't any available in Singapore.

Currently I'm working on individual custom pieces to earn back my expenses, after that I'd consider doing it for a living if the response is good!

They are designed from my experience with guitar modification and research. Dimensions are based on hardware choice.
The 8 string bridge is actually an extended gotoh flatmount I got made at a metal shop locally.

The actual gluing and alignment was too intense so I couldn't snap any pictures inbetween.

Managed to get it flush aligned, very complicated alignment process, i think I'm not going to do it like this next time.

Left it to dry overnight.

hey I sent you a PM, thanks for your interest but I'm not sure if James/SOFT would like me to discuss business on this forum. :)

All done today, all flat with room for final adjustments in the body section.

Closeup of the neckthru "heel" before carving, notice how well the 30mm body fits the neck even at this stage.

Bought 2 chrome gotoh flatmounts from Ty Music Centre and a locking nut from Davis.

I'm thinking of using a locking nut with a zero fret, what do you guys think?
