Coil Splitting on SG

Is it possible to modify the Epiphone SG Special to have a switchable coil splitting function similar to the SG G-400 Pro?

Any guitar service centers here in Singapore that does this?

Depends on the pickups. Some can be wired by changing out the tone switch with one that has push pull ability. Just follow seymour duncan website for some wiring diagrams. If the pickups do not support coil splitting then you have to buy/install new pickups that can be splitted.

Hey guys,
If it's the "Special", I've noticed that it comes with a pair of leads. One hot and one ground.
To easily establish if it's so, open the back cover, there'll be two sets or wires from the pickups appearing from cavity in the wood.

One type comes with red housing or blue housing with a white inner core/ bare wire on the outer core. This is the single conductor with ground only. This cannot be coil split without it being dissected and rewired.

The other comes with generally a black housing with a bunch of five wires within it. (Eg red, black, white, green, bare)
This has the ability to be split as it has the option of breaking the continuity of the output from both the slug pole pickup and the screw pole pickup. This is the four conductor type with ground.

As per what jcvw75 has said. You can refer to the schematics provided online by Seymour Duncan's online site. There are colour code variances between the different brands of pickups.

Anyway best wishes...
Hope the coil split thing works out well...
Happy Diwali...
