Hee

Only difference between G2 & G2.1u is the expression pedal :) I personally wld suggest G2.1u cuz its more convenient, so to speak.

I mainly use my pedal for volume control cuz I lazy to use my volume knobs unless I wandered far off frm my GFX-8. The pedal also help me to do some nice wah efx but wld be beta if i had a REAL wah pedal la :) kekeke..

thor666, if u r dropping by city music anytime soon, pls post e retail price here can?

yea. most likely if no probs, i'll go down davis to get strings, then citymusic for the awe in one jazz picks and try out the g2.

anyone interested to join me? can sms me at <nine eight 777 eight zero one>.

The G2.1u has a USB port that enables computer recording. It comes bundled with a DAW application "Cubase LE".

The above is quoted from the Zoom G2 series flyer. Hope this helps.

i already tried the g2, it retails at $128 after discount, quite affordable, but the distortions are still as digital as ever, their improved sampling rate seriously seems to be just hype, but im still getting 1, because of the drum machine and delays

used to own a 708II..
the thing i dislike most abt it is changing the settings ..
so confusing .... the manual doesnt seem to help much also ...
but i do like the drum riffs, sampler and Flanger....
the dist is a tad bit too digital for me tho ...~

How's the G2.1 compare to the 707II ??
other den looks and usb ...

i've never tried a zoom 707ii before, but i've had a gfx1, sounds almost the same to me, except the physical differences, still very digital, esp the distortions

i'm using a Zoom GFX-8 and the wah is horrible........the sensitivity is also damn lousy....i normally use the distortion but it does seem a bit digital but still it gives me the chance to create many tone variations but can't really compare much with the amount of effects........

the main thing of course is making sure you know how to use it and using its full potential......something which i'm not good at

but i would have gone for a single effects pedal like kim dunlop's wah and digitech's distortion pedal

i think that boss GT-6 is quite good....

Haha u r not alone . . . imo, buying a single distortion pedal or using distortion thru tube amps wld be a much better option than using e distortion modules of a multi-efx.

HEi jeremy.. What is your opinion abt the GFX1 huh?? I am considering to buy one lor.. Besides the dist, what other problems that you encounter??

ok... back from citymusic.

list prices:
zoom g2 - $160
zoom g2.1u - $260

Yes there are discounts. After discount the g2.1u would be just slightly above the $200 mark. :)

and yes, you'll probably always get the 2.1u, since it has an expression pedal + usb to connect to cubase (provided) for direct recording.

will write a mini review when i get free (too bz with schwork now lah...sian) ... but nothing much on tone quality and stuff as i'm too idiot for the idiotproof digtal effect. :|

Oh man.. Did u buy anything?

i got a jazz iii and awe-in-one jazz picks... 8)

but seriously i'm really contemplating stopping to buy effects. my setup doesn't really need anything much. (probably a fun weird sounding effect would be nice, but in terms of the normal tones i'm quite well prepared.) furthermore i'm quite the "few tones" player and i seriously don't need so many tones from a g2.1u unless it sounds awesomely better than my hyper lead.

good for starters, but i hated not being able to tweak the effex and distortions more, each fx only got 10 diff settings

I would prefer the zoom 707 rather than gfx 1 to 3 (if there r 2 & 3 ). Anything lesser than the gfx 4 is nt amazing.
